Sure, the Walt Disney World parks are filled with fun activities, but there’s still plenty to do at the Resort hotels, too!

Experiences at Disney hotels can add a special magic to your vacation. And the best part? There are LOTS of unique options! You can rent kayaks or ride horses at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground; walk to Disney Springs from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort; or visit a massive pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
But for a laundry list of fun things you can do at a single Resort, head over to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn! Although many experiences here are temporarily unavailable due to current limited operations, there are still plenty of ways to have fun.
Grab a Drink
You can enjoy a drink at two spots along the BoardWalk: AbracadaBar and BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas (which just reopened!).

BoardWalk Joe’s will offer simpler sips — including spiked Dole Whip! — while AbracadaBar has fancier options. When you combine both locations (which are just a few steps away from each other), you have lots of choices.

Although temporarily unavailable, guests 21+ can typically visit Jellyrolls, too. The bar is famous for its dueling pianos! Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date just yet, but you may want to keep it in mind for future trips.

Ride a Bike
A couple of Disney resorts offer the chance to ride a Surrey Bike! At the BoardWalk can rent a two-person, four-person, or six-person bike, and take it for a trip around the BoardWalk. Just make sure you save your energy for the uphill sections of the path!

Bikes will cost you $25 per person. They are temporarily unavailable at the BoardWalk, but we’ve already seen them return to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Disney’s Old Key West Resort, so we’ve got our fingers crossed!

Take a Walk
One of the best parts about the BoardWalk is the atmosphere. Especially at night, the twinkling lights, sounds of the Friendship Boats, and quiet music make for great ambience.

You can stroll up and down the BoardWalk, or go for a longer circle around all of the EPCOT resorts. On your journey, you can pop inside Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, and the Swan and Dolphin Resorts for a quick visit. It’s a great chance to explore hotels where you may not be staying!

You can also go for a run! The EPCOT resort area has a variety of jogging trails of all lengths for you to enjoy.

Get a Bite to Eat
Of course, what’s a trip to the BoardWalk without exploring some of the food? Your dining options include Big River Grille & Brewing Works, Trattoria al Forno (which also has a to-go pizza window!), and BoardWalk Bakery. And of course, you stop by AbracadaBar or BoardWalk Joe’s Marvelous Margaritas for some quick apps or a cocktail!

You can also find the ESPN Club on the BoardWalk, where you’ll enjoy American eats and an opportunity to watch the big game. However, it remains temporarily unavailable.Â

Enjoy Disney Transportation
The BoardWalk is home to three forms of Disney transportation: the Friendship Boats, Disney buses, and the Skyliner! Both the Friendship Boats and Skyliner transport guests from the EPCOT resort area to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If you want to see the whole BoardWalk area but don’t feel like walking, take a Friendship Boat! It makes a stop at each hotel, so you can hop off and explore one section at a time.

If you have more spare time, take a trip on the Skyliner! You’ll get some great views of the nearby parks and resorts — plus, you’ll feel a gentle breeze.

Even if you’re not staying in the EPCOT resort area, a trip to the BoardWalk may be worth it! There’s lots to do, and it will get you away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. Give it a try on your next trip to Disney World!
