Disney World has a ton of great dining spots across its four theme parks, but don’t sleep on the shopping and dining district, Disney Springs!

We recently stopped by Planet Hollywood at Disney Springs, and we are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
Planet Hollywood is themed as a large observatory that features dining and bars, with a starry night feel. Inside the restaurant, you’ll find different nods to movies and entertainment. It’s a place movie lovers will want to check out.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
The restaurant has a very fun vibe, with different movie posters and costumes decorating the dining spot. The place plays pop music and has a giant video screen in the observatory to keep guests entertained. It’s a very family-friendly spot. It almost feels like a small museum!

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the High Roller Sampler for $42.99. This sampler is huge, and comes with fried shrimp, chicken tenders, guacamole, classic buffalo chicken wings, and a spin on nachos using Gyoza skins called Texas Tostados. It’s said on the menu that it serves four.

The fried shrimp were our least favorite of all the items. The breading was loose and did not cling to the shrimp very well. It felt a little over-seasoned for the delicate flavor of the shrimp. The sauce was your classic Yum Yum sauce, and we enjoyed it with the sauce. That being said, it was the least popular of all the items on this tower.

The fresh guacamole was beautiful with layers of Cotija cheese, pickled bread, onions, peppers, and roasted corn on top. The guacamole itself is a mild version, so if you’re a fan of spicier versions, you’ll be missing the kick on this. We enjoyed putting some on the Texas tostadas to complete the nacho effect, but the guacamole was also delicious just on a chip by itself.

The chicken tenders are your classic crunchy chicken tenders with honey mustard sauce, and we enjoyed these. The breading was the right thickness, and the chicken was juicy and tender throughout. We enjoyed these classic chicken tenders. Are they the best we’ve ever had? Not quite — they certainly don’t compare to the new ones at Cake Bake Shop.

The buffalo wings are a classic medium buffalo sauce, and they are well-fried, served with your choice of blue cheese or ranch. The chicken tostadas are so fun. This rendition, using crispy Gyoza skins, stayed crisp, even as we ate the rest of the tower. The layer of barbecue sauce was delicious, and there was plenty of cheese, onions, and chicken on each skin.

Next, we had the Bacon Mac & Cheese Burger for $22.99. Warning, this burger is huge! They call them big mouth burgers for a reason. This thing is packed with mac & cheese, which is super creamy. The salty bacon really balances out the heaviness from the mac & cheese.

The mac & cheese is also topped with a layer of melted cheddar; this is a must for any mac & cheese cheddar lovers. We could still taste the burger patty, even with all the toppings on it, and the crunch of the crispy onions really brings the flavors together. We really enjoyed this burger!

For dessert, we had the White Chocolate Bread Pudding for $12.95. This was a delightful end to your meal with layers of bread pudding that are well soaked with a pleasant texture between firm and soft. The white chocolate doesn’t really shine, but the bread pudding flavor is delicious.

The fresh whipped cream is a very nice touch with very cool creamy ice cream covering the top. As it melts, it turns into a crème anglaise, creating classic textures and flavors that we absolutely love. This is a huge dessert and definitely big enough to share with one or two friends.

To drink, we picked up the Black Pearl Mai Tai for $12.99. This is a sweeter-than-normal rendition of a Mai Tai. The base is mostly juice, so it’s not a classic Mai Tai, but it does have tropical flavors that will bring vacation vibes to every sip as you are enjoying it. If you’re a fan of a classic Mai Tai, this will not suit your tastes.

Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re looking for a fun family spot! This is a popular spot, and for good reason. It’s a place that has stuff to look at and listen to.
- You’re looking for your usual American comfort food! This is a spot that has your safe food options, with a few unique twists.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You’re looking for more unique dishes! As we said, there aren’t a ton of international options here, which you can still find at Disney Springs.
- You want something cheaper! Disney Springs is filled with quick-service options, so there are cheaper and quicker options.

Overall, we aren’t mad about dining here, but it’s not even close to our top 10 restaurants in Disney Springs. It has tons of solid comfort food options, and the atmosphere is fun, but for the price, it’s hard to justify.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
