Cast Members are the backbone of Disney World, and because of that, they know a thing or two about secret locations all around Disney.

Behind the attractions, parades, and castle views is a hidden world designed exclusively for Cast Members. These are the places where costumes get changed, meals get eaten, and the park’s day-to-day operations quietly run in the background. Most guests walk right past these spots without ever realizing they exist, but for Cast Members, they’re a part of everyday life. From underground tunnels to off-stage buildings you’d never spot on a park map, here are five secret places in Disney World that only Cast Members know about.
Utilidors
We’re starting with one of the most well-known “secrets” in Disney World, the tunnels beneath Magic Kingdom. Officially called the Utilidors, these underground corridors are technically the first floor of the park, with Magic Kingdom built entirely on top of them. The Utilidoors were designed to help Cast Members move quickly across the park without disrupting the themed lands guests see above.
While they sound mysterious, former Cast Members will tell you they’re far from glamorous. Think concrete walls, signage, and lots of hustle. Still, they play a crucial role in keeping Magic Kingdom running smoothly and the on-stage magic perfectly intact.

Cast Member Dining Areas
Cast Members have their own places to grab a bite, and yes, some of them are surprisingly familiar. One of the most famous examples is the Subway located inside the Utilidoors at Magic Kingdom, giving Cast Members an easy and affordable meal option during their shifts.
There’s also another Subway tucked away at Disney’s Hollywood Studios behind Disney Jr. Play and Dance. These dining locations aren’t accessible to guests, but they’re a major perk for Cast Members working long hours in the parks.

Cast Connections
Cast Members know the best place to get discounted merchandise is Cast Connections. This Cast Member-only store offers deeply discounted Disney merchandise, including apparel, souvenirs, and even food items. Located backstage near Animal Kingdom, Cast Connections is one of the most beloved Cast Member perks and often features overstock items from the parks and resorts. It’s essentially a hidden Disney outlet, just not one guests can shop in.

Casting
Before a Cast Member ever puts on a name tag, many of them pass through Casting. Located across from Disney Springs, this building is where some of the onboarding process happens, especially for Disney College Program participants. For many, it’s the very first stop on their Disney journey. One fun detail? The front door features an Alice in Wonderland-inspired doorknob, a subtle reminder that stepping inside is like entering a whole new world.

Flamingo Crossings (DCP Housing)
Many Disney College Program participants call Flamingo Crossings home during their program. Located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this apartment-style housing complex is designed specifically for DCP Cast Members.
Flamingo Crossings includes pools, gyms, study spaces, and transportation to the parks, creating a community that feels uniquely Disney. While guests may drive past it without a second thought, for thousands of Cast Members, it’s where lifelong friendships and plenty of Disney memories start.

Cast Members have a look behind the magical curtain of Disney, and they know the secret places most guests will never see. For more Disney stories and news, be sure to follow us at AllEars.net.
