Refreshment Port Has Temporarily Closed in EPCOT, and We’re Worried About Our Poutine

We know that when restaurants, rides, and other attractions close for refurbishment in the parks, it’s all for the best, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be sad while we’re without them.

Traditional Poutine at Refreshment Port

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Refreshment Port would be closing for a lengthy refurbishment this month. That day has finally come, so if you were hoping to grab some delicious poutine, you’ll need to head to Disney Springs to get your fix for the foreseeable future.

Refreshment Port is located right at the entrance to World Showcase, closest to the Canada Pavilion, and it’s known for serving up poutine — both classic and special versions around certain times of year. We usually love seeing what special version is available for the EPCOT Festivals, but now that this spot is closed, we won’t be able to snag a bite during Festival of the Arts.

Refreshment Port is now closed!

When we stopped by today, we were able to see that the entire location is fully closed down. The windows are shut, and there are those classic green shrubs up in front of the building.

Totally closed down

At this time, it’s unclear when this spot will be reopening again. Not only has Disney not made an announcement regarding a reopening date, but the Disney World calendar goes all the way out to the end of February, and there’s no opening date in sight. Does this mean this spot will actually stay closed for this entire time? Well, it’s hard to say, because Disney could announce a reopening date at any time and add it to the calendar whenever they’d like, but it also may not be listed yet because we really may not see it reopen until later in the year.

We’ll miss you until you’re open again!

This also means it’s possible we may not see this spot reopen in time for EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival, but we’ll be crossing our fingers it’ll be open by then — we want our poutine! However, if you’re in the mood for poutine in the meantime, we suggest heading over to The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs for some delicious offerings.
