Our Favorite Disney World Rides Are Crying Out For Help

We’re in Disney World nearly EVERY day, and that means that we’ve seen our favorite rides struggle. We’ve also seen our not-so-favorite rides struggle, but no matter which ride it is, we’re pretty used to it — technology doesn’t want to work all the time, as we’re all likely very well aware!

However, we’re normally used to seeing more technologically advanced rides act up, because there are a lot more things that can go wrong in there. Which is why it’s SO surprising to us to see just how many more “simple” rides this past month had numerous closures this past month. Imagine our jaws dropping when we read that one of the rides that closed the MOST is one of the ones that JUST came out of a refurbishment (and no, it’s NOT Test Track)!

Magic Kingdom

We were a little find to ride that the attraction we’ve found to recently be the MOST unreliable in this park — The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh — actually landed in SECOND place this month, closing 38 times in 22 days.

Instead, the number one spot went to Magic Carpets of Aladdin, which closed 39 times in 19 days. This doesn’t totally shock us, seeing as this ride has had lots of issues in the past, but it’s been a hot second since it started acting up.

Then again, now that we think about it, since we’re going into winter, maybe this one just isn’t a fan of being outside in the colder weather.

EPCOT

Ah, now here’s where things get really interesting. Test Track has REALLY been pushing buttons recently, and that hasn’t changed! It still closed 37 times in 21 days, which is far from great, but that number landed it in SECOND place, not first!

Test Track

Nope, the ride that closed the most in this park was none other than Spaceship Earth, which closed 39 times in 23 days.

It JUST came out of a refurbishment too! What is going on? Are we not thanking the Phoenicians enough? We can fix that, Disney, just say the word.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

We were not surprised at all to see that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance closed 33 times in 20 days, because hey, this ride is INVOLVED. Do we wish it broke down less? Yes, of course, but we also give it a pass most times, because there’s a LOT going on there that we don’t even want to THINK about trying to fix.

Now, as for Toy Story Mania!, which closed 30 times in 18 days? Yeah, now THAT is excessive, and we’re a little confused as to why. This ride has been seeing some higher wait times than normal, which isn’t totally unheard of during the colder months, since the queue is mostly indoors, but does that mean the more guests this ride sees, the more often it closes?

Toy Story Mania

If that IS the case, that has us a little stressed. It’s still not one of the most popular rides in the park, so since other rides see more traffic and DON’T break down as much, we’re getting a little worried.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We are not shocked at all to see that Expedition Everest has the highest number of closures in this park, closing 29 times in 20 days, and that’s for two reasons. One, this ride is outside, so the moment lightning is nearby, it’s gotta close, and two, it’s getting up there in age! We still keep wondering if a refurbishment is in its future once Pueblo Esperanza has opened up and there are new attractions in the park — we’ll have to wait and see!

Dinosaur closed 15 times in 10 days, which honestly isn’t bad for this one! It’s also on its way out (get your last rides in, friends!), so if it has as few closures as possible so as many people as possible can ride it, we’ll be thrilled.

DINOSAUR

We’ll be sure to keep a close eye on wait times and closures so you can plan for your next Disney World trip, so stay tuned to AllEars!
