Have we been blasting you with tons of Disney Destiny updates? Yes, we have! Are we stopping now? We can’t! The newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Destiny, is setting sail for the first time. The ship’s first sail date is on November 20th, and we are so excited!

The theme for the brand-new Disney cruise is heroes and villains! The ship has many nods to Disney’s iconic heroes and villains, along with Marvel. We got a chance to get an early look at the Disney Destiny, and we had to show you everything that we saw! We’re excited about everything the ship has to offer, but one thing in particular has us shaking — the Haunted Mansion-themed lounge.
Welcome, foolish mortals, to The Haunted Mansion Parlor! This place is built perfectly for fans of the iconic Disney attraction. We could feel the chills running down our spines as we looked at every detail this lounge had. The walls feature the wallpaper that you’ll find on the ride.

There were also pictures on the wall that were the same pictures you’ll find at the beginning of the ride in Disney World and the queue line at Disneyland. Do you recognize them?

There were sofas to sit on…

…incredible decor to stare at…

…marble statues…

…and other small props that resemble what’s on the ride.

The exit door looked like the doors you’ll find in the hallway on the attraction.

One of the coolest parts about this place is the bar, where you’ll find Madame Leota in the mirror.

Let’s take a look at the menu! The menu here is digital, not a physical one.

They had so many fun and interesting drinks, all with names themed with nods to the Haunted Mansion.

As exciting as the theming is, it’s time to move on to the drinks. The first thing we tried was the Restless Bones for $8.50. This was 1883 Popcorn Syrup, Monin Salted Caramel, and Boundless Butterscotch Potion. This was one of our favorite drinks at the lounge. It’s a super sweet drink — think cream soda but turned up to the max, and without the soda. It was a very clear drink, and non-alcoholic. If they sold this in bottles, we would be taking this home with us!

Then, there’s the Swinging Wake in a souvenir cup for $25. This had Monin Cherry & Banana Syrups, Orange Juice, Berry Beware Potion, and it comes with an Organ Player Sipper. This is another non-alcoholic drink, and this one tastes like a very flat homemade cherry cola.

There’s a very light cherry flavor to it with very little carbonation. If you’re a fan of cherry cola, you’d most likely like this. We think this drink will be a big hit for the kiddos. The sipper is a huge plus for getting this. It lights up and plays the Grim Grinning Ghosts song. You can’t get the sipper without the drink, and you can’t get the drink without the sipper — they’re a combo deal.

The Midnight Spree for $8.50 had 1883 Dragon Fruit Syrup, Butterfly Pea Syrup, and Sour Shivers Lemonade. This was ok, definitely a little different than the others. It has a more bitter taste to it, and the syrups give it a grapefruit type taste. We can see the appeal, but it just wasn’t really for us. The dragon fruit did give the drink a sweeter taste, but not enough for us to get this again.

Next up, we got the Poseidon Tidal Terror for $16 without the souvenir mug. This is made with Metaxa 5 Stars, 1883 Mango, Lime Juice, Angostura bitters, Fever Tree Pineapple Ginger Soda, and Leejay. This one was another “just ok” one. It tasted like a bittery ginger beer with some decent sweetness to it. We did appreciate the mango and pineapple flavors in it, but they were just very muted against the ginger. It costs $65 with the souvenir mug.

After that, we tried the Tail of the Rat for $15. This was made with Stoli Elite, Ube Syrup, Fever Tree Sparkling Lemonade, and Ube Dusted Lotus & Edible Violas. We really liked this; we thought it was way better than anything from the treasure. The ube wasn’t particularly strong (like an earthier vanilla), but it was definitely there. It was a more fun twist on a lemonade. It was refreshing — you couldn’t really taste the vodka, but it felt like a cocktail.

Awaken the Spirits is $16 and made with Illegal Reposado Mezcal, Fresh Lime Juice, Hibiscus Cinnamon Agave Syrup, Bitters, and Dried Hibiscus. This drink is smoky, smoky smoky! This one is for mezcal lovers by far. It was smooth but strong. The lime juice added some acidity, and the cinnamon agave wasn’t super apparent. We were hoping for more of the floral flavors as well, but they weren’t able to outshine the woody mezcal. Overall, we loved this!

Then there’s The Siren: Ethereal Encore, made with Sake, Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Gin, 1883 Falernum Syrup, Lime, and Pineapple & Grapefruit Juices. We absolutely LOVED this tiki one. It was very fruity and juicy — more on the sweeter side, and was the one to get if you’re a mai tai drinker or love a classic tiki drink. The twist is that the liquor is gin and sake, but that wasn’t apparent — it felt more like a classic rum drink. Not a stand-out, but offers something new with familiar flavors. It costs $55 with a souvenir mug.
