Disney Announces New Ride Closure Starting This December

There might be nothing more disappointing in a Disney trip than showing up to ride your favorite attraction and being hit with that “closed for refurbishment” sign. We understand it’s a necessary evil to keep the ride running as it should, but once I’ve downed a churro and have slipped my Mickey ears back on, I want to get on the ride!

Indiana Jones Adventure

Disney has announced tons of ride closures this year to make way for updated versions of these attractions. Some have already reopened, like Spaceship Earth and Test Track EPCOT, or Astro Orbiter in Magic Kingdom, but there are also many still on the horizon, such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in both Disney World and Disneyland. If you’re heading to Disneyland sometime this year, we’ve got something to warn you about — yet ANOTHER closure is happening, though it’ll only be over the course of two days.

The Disneyland calendar now shows that Indiana Jones Adventure will be closed in the park on December 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but times are showing again on December 4th, indicating this is a very short closure.

Note: Previously, this post indicated that the ride would be closed on December 2nd and 3rd. It appears the schedule has been updated and the ride will now close from the 1st-3rd and reopen on December 4th.

When we headed over to the Disneyland daily schedule, which lists the park’s overall closures each day, we confirmed it’s listed as “Closed for refurbishment” on those 3 days, reopening on December 4th.

In Disneyland, the Casey Jr. Circus Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Storybook Land Canal Boats will also be closed during this timeAs for Disney California Adventure, there won’t be any closures in the park during this section of time.

Disney hasn’t announced what this closure is for, but it’s most likely for something small, such as fixing a few minor areas of the ride’s details, or perhaps adding something little (or taking something out). We have no way of knowing until we ride the attraction again after the closure, so we’ll be sure to let you know if we see anything different.
