REVIEW: If You Fight for the Edge Pieces of a Brownie, This New Disney World Treat Is for You!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and to raise awareness, Disney Springs has introduced a new treat that we were TOTALLY shocked by.

We recently got to try the special donut at Everglazed that benefits Ovarian Cancer Awareness, but if you head over to Pizza Ponte in the Landing section of the shopping and dining district, there’s a new cookie to grab that benefits the Cookies for Kids’ Cancer program. Don’t be fooled, though — it may look like a simple treat, but the flavor blew us away!

Pizza Ponte is a fast-casual spot that serves up pastries, pizza, Italian sandwiches, and espresso. Right now, and throughout the whole month of September, you can grab The Cocoapizzie, which comes as a pack of two for $5.50.

We won’t lie, when we saw these cookies at first, we were a little weary, but we shouldn’t have worried. The inside of the cookie is ooey gooey like a brownie, while the outside is perfectly crispy — if you fight for the edge pieces of a pan of brownies, this is perfect for you!

It’s a bit salty, which cuts through the sweetness, and we loved that the chocolate wasn’t overpowering. It was practically falling apart though as we tried to take photos, so it was a little more crumbly than what we would have liked, but overall it’s a solid treat for a good price, and a portion of the proceeds of each cookie sold benefit Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, which is an organization that is dedicated to funding vital research for pediatric cancer.
