REVIEW: The Scariest Thing About This Universal Halloween Horror Nights Snack Is The Price

It’s that time of the year again. It’s that time when everything gets spooky and the theme parks start having their Halloween parties. In Disney World, you’ve got Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. However, at Universal Orlando, you’ve got Very Scary Halloween Horror Nights.

Carl Cupcake

One thing we love about Halloween Horror Nights is the snacks, which are usually especially horrifying (although they often taste great). Well, we just tried one new snack that actually looked cute, but there was one thing that terrified us about it…the price.

So for Halloween Horror Nights, Louie’s Italian Restaurant has been transformed into Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, the very same pizza place you visit in the Five Nights at Freddy’s video game and movie. And one of the snacks there is Carl Cupcake, who is actually a character from the game and movie. But at Halloween Horror Nights, he’s a cupcake you can eat.

There he is!

The Carl Cupcake is a cute Chocolate cupcake with raspberry, cannoli cream filling, and mascarpone buttercream icing. If you love icing, well, there is a LOT of it. The filling is where things are a little divisive. It has seeds in it, which could turn off some folks who have a thing about textures. We liked it because it tasted fresh, rather than artificial. The flavors all meld well together, so it’s a pretty tasty cupcake.

A nice filling

But here’s where things get scary…this little cupcake is $12.99. Yes, $13 for a regular-sized cupcake. So you’re going to have to really love Five Nights at Freddy’s to really appreciate it. We don’t think we’d pay that for it again.
