It is time for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort! This is one of our faaaavorite Halloween events, and we are bringing you along with us to experience everything the event has to offer. Halloween has already arrived at Disney World with the start of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and now it is time for Halloween at Universal Orlando.

Now, we mentioned Disney World’s Halloween event, but note that these two events are on very different sides of the scary spectrum. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary is family-friendly, and you aren’t going to be jump-scared. Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is exactly the opposite — it is scary, and you WILL get jump scared. But if you love true horror vibes, then you need to plan a trip to HHN.
Grabbing Your Ticket
Let’s start with the basics! Halloween Horror Nights runs Wednesday–Sunday nights, August 29th through November 2nd, 2025. There is one week in September where the event will not run on Thursday (September 18th), but instead there will be an event on that Tuesday (September 16th).

The park will close early for regular guests who don’t have an after-hours ticket at 5 PM, and HHN officially runs from 6:30 PM to 2 AM. We suggest arriving about 45 minutes to an hour before the official start time, as the gates might open early — we’ve seen as early as 5:30 PM before! Nights are known to sell out, so be sure to grab your tickets ahead of time ASAP.

Speaking of tickets, there are a few different types to choose from!
- Halloween Horror Nights Single-Night Ticket (starts at $85.99 per person): Allows access to the event on one night of your choosing (made at the time of booking)
- Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass (Starts at an additional $179.99 per person): Can be purchased on top of a regular ticket. This allows you to skip the line for every haunted house once throughout the night!
- Halloween Horror Nights R.I.P. Tour (Starts at an additional $439.99 per person): A guided VIP walking tour that includes priority entry to haunted houses, a pre-tour reception, valet parking, and reserved seating at select shows. This is an add-on, and you must also purchase an event night ticket.
- Halloween Horror Nights Behind-the-Screams: Unmasking the Horror Tour (Starts at $99.99 per person): Allows access into the park to tour 3 or 6 haunted houses and get a look behind the scenes during the day — valid park admission is not required.
- Scream Early Ticket (Starts at $55 per person): Enter the park from 3 PM-5 PM and then take advantage of first access to haunted houses. This is an additional charge on top of a regular Horror Nights ticket.
You can also purchase multi-night tickets. The options for these tickets include:
- The Rush of Fear Pass: Provides entry to the first 18 event nights.
- The Frequent Fear Pass: Access to every Sunday through Thursday, plus the first weekend.
- The Frequent Fear Plus Pass: Includes entry every Sunday through Friday, plus the first and last Saturday.
- The Ultimate Frequent Fear Pass: Grants access to EVERY night of the event, along with complimentary regular parking after 5 PM on all event nights.
I don’t know what I’m more excited about: seeing Art throughout the park or experience the Fallout house ???#HHN34 #mediaevent #hosted @UniversalORL @HorrorNightsORL pic.twitter.com/zohxsNfbtQ

Haunted Houses and Scare Zones
The main draw of the event is the scariest, of course, which are the Haunted Houses and Scare Zones!

This year, there are ten different Haunted Houses to explore — be sure you prioritize which are at the top of your list because lines can get long.

This year’s houses are:
- Five Nights at Freddy’s
- The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks
- Terrifier
- Jason Universe
- Fallout
- Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters
- Dolls: Let’s Play Dead
- Grave of Flesh
- Gálkn: Monsters of the North
- El Artista: A Spanish Haunting

There are four scare zones to experience around the park this year. Scare zones don’t have lines; you will just walk through them, enjoy the scenery, and you might just happen across a couple of scare actors.

The scare zones this year are:
- The Origins of Horror
- Masquerade: Dance with Death
- The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane
- Mutations: Toxic Twenties

This year, there will also be two street experiences! We are super excited about these. The street experiences include:
- Mel’s Die-In Zombies
- Club Horror

But there is even more to do at Halloween Horror Nights!
Additional Entertainment
You can also watch the Nightmare Fuel: Circus of Decay show at select times each night! In this show, a “once-vibrant circus has festered into an unending nightmare. It’s a sinister spectacle of pyro, aerialists, and illusions.”

This show is RIDICULOUSLY good. The music? Incredible. The aerialists? Incredible. The dancing? Incredible. The show is about 20 minutes long, and we loved every second of it. Do NOT skip this show!

There is also a special nighttime show over the Universal Studios lagoon called Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey. It features towering water screens and eerie music.

Don’t forget that some of Universal Orlando’s most popular rides are open during the night for you to experience with shorter waits. The following attractions are open during the event:
- Revenge of the Mummy
- Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts
- MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack™
- TRANSFORMERS: The Ride-3D

Merchandise
You can find a lot of merchandise at the Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store, and the store is an experience that you won’t want to miss. This year, the store is styled as an antiquities museum. SPOOKY! Whether you are shopping for merchandise or not, you need to make a stop by the Tribute Store. The Universal creative team told us that this is probably one of the LARGEST Halloween Horror Nights merchandise lines EVER.
You can also find some of the merchandise online, as well as at:
- Five and Dime
- Kwik-E-Mart
- MIB Gear
- The Film Vault
- San Francisco Candy Factory
- Sahara Traders
- Simpsons™ Games
- Supply Vault
- Universal Studios Store
- Diagon Alley™ Shops
- Borgin & Burkes

Food
Last but certainly not least, we can’t forget about the exclusive eats available during this event!

Universal just released their official menus for the event, and here are a few of the spots where you can find the special offerings spread around the park:
- Halloween Horror Nights Tribute Store
- Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria
- Dreamwork’s Imagination Cafe
- TODAY Cafe
- San Francisco Pastry Company
- Various Tent/Cart locations throughout the park
Look out for some popular items inspired by this year’s scares, including Cupcake (Five Nights at Freddy’s), Radaway (Fallout), Clown Café Bloody Popcorn (Terrifier), and more.
