Your Next Animal Kingdom Trip Will Look TOTALLY Different

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is known for blending wild adventure, stunning landscapes, and powerful storytelling into one immersive experience.

From trekking through the jungles of Asia to soaring over Pandora on Flight of Passage, the park offers a unique mix of nature, culture, and magic. It’s a place where you can go on safari in the morning and be face-to-face with a yeti in the afternoon. But if you think you know what to expect on your next visit, think again — major changes are on the horizon that are about to shake up your entire experience.

You might find construction walls and green scrim up at the former entrance and exit of It’s Tough To Be A Bug in preparation for Zootopia: Better Zoogether. While we had previously seen some construction walls up around the Tree of Life Theater, it looks like Disney has finally begun updating the attraction’s entrance. The show is set to open in winter 2025.

Construction has begun

Moving on to DinoLand U.S.A., there are a lot of changes happening here. This area is transforming into the new Tropical Americas land, Pueblo Esperanza.  In January, TriceraTop Spin, the Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures closed permanently so construction could start on this new land. Construction walls are up here, with work already underway.

The next wave of closures is coming soon. The Boneyard will close on September 2nd, 2025. If you want to dig for dinosaur bones or let your little ones enjoy the playground, make sure you do it before September.

If you are hoping to ride DINOSAUR one more time, you’ll still have the rest of 2025 to ride it. There is no official closing date for the attraction as of yet, but it was confirmed to be open for the remainder of this year.

This new area will feature three new rides. Two of them are larger attractions — one being an Indiana Jones ride and an Encanto ride. We are so thrilled to experience these new attractions once the land opens in 2027.
