REVIEW: We Just Tried a TON of New Food in EPCOT’s Italy Pavilion!

The Italy Pavilion often doesn’t get the best rep when it comes to EPCOT festival eats, but there are some pretty great restaurants located in the pavilion that rarely disappoint us!

Italy Pavilion

As it turns out, NEW items are coming to many of these spots, and we got the chance to be one of the first to try them out. We’re giving you our full review so you can decide if these items are worth a try on your next visit — let’s get tasting!

Primavera Kitchen

A NEW item has landed at the festival booth over in EPCOT, Primavera Kitchen, for the Flower and Garden Festival. This is the Mezzelune Croccanti e Polpette for $8.

New item on the menu!

This actually really impressed us! The ravioli was nice and soft, while the outside was a little crispy. The meatballs were seasoned with a hint of garlic, and the tomato sauce paired well. We can’t believe we’re saying this, but this is a dish we WOULD recommend! Hooray, Italy Festival Booth!

While that’s the only new addition at the festival booth, there are PLENTY around the rest of the pavilion!

Tutto Italia

There’s a new drink available at Tutto Italia called the Sorsi d’Oro Italian Pilsner, so if you’re a drinker, it may be something you want to try out! This is only served here, so it’s pretty exclusive.

We also got a look at the new Summer Prix Fixe Menu coming for lunch reservations this summer! There’s no official start date just yet, but Cast Members believe it’ll arrive in May or June.

This deal will only be $29, which is a STEAL for this table service restaurant! We chose to have the Caesar Salad as our appetizer, and it was one of the best ones we’ve ever had — there were plenty of thickly cut Parmesan pieces and plenty of dressing, and the lettuce was so fresh and crunchy.

Caesar Salad

For our entree, we chose to try the Penne and the Fettuccine Alfredo. The Penne had a delicious Garibaldi sauce on it that was so rich and flavorful with so much more depth than you find with normal tomato sauce. The Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, and the noodles were al dente. We really appreciated that it wasn’t as heavy as many other Fettuccine Alfredos we’ve had in the past, making it a better fit for a theme park meal. Our last item on the plate was a Caprese Salad, and while this was different and much more tomato-forward, we still enjoyed it. However, if we had to choose between appetizers, we’d get the Caesar Salad every time.

Via Napoli

Over at Via Napoli, you’ll find THREE new drinks on the menu! The Frozen Volcano was a non-alcoholic option that was like a frozen Piña Colada with some raspberry syrup, so if you’re a fan of those flavors typically, this is a great option for you.

Frozen Volcano

The Dolce Vita is another non-alcoholic drink that also had raspberry syrup in it and was very strong on the fizzy water, which our reporter wasn’t the biggest fan of, and that made it the overwhelming flavor. The fruit flavor was very mild, and we would have loved to see more of a balance between the two.

For their alcoholic drink, you can try their new Beer Sangria as well!

We also got a chance to try the Prosciutto e Melone, which has been on the menu for a while now, but it was our reporter’s first time having it. This has prosciutto, arugula, and cantaloupe on it, and surprisingly, all the flavors work really well together. The cantaloupe was bright and fruity, the prosciutto had that deep meatiness to it, and the crust was light and fluffy.

Prosciutto e Melone

We also got a chance to try the new Caprese Salad on the menu. This was bright and fresh, so much so that our knives cut through the tomato and mozzarella like butter. We loved it!

And finally…

Gelateria Toscana

We headed over to Gelateria Toscana for their two new drink options! The first is an Iced Americano, which you can add a syrup to, if you’d like! We tried it with Hazelnut, and the espresso flavor was certainly very strong here. The hazelnut added an earthiness and nuttiness to it, which we were big fans of.

Iced Americano

You can also snag the Caffe Shakerato. This is essentially an espresso martini made into an ice cream beverage with vanilla gelato, and it doesn’t have any alcohol in it. The coffee flavor is very strong in this one too, so we’d recommend it for coffee lovers who want something cold and refreshing on a hot day.
