Why Everyone Will Be Running to McDonald’s on May 5th

Not one, but TWO brand new menu items are coming to McDonald’s!

Beginning on May 5th, the iconic restaurant chain will feature McCrispy Strips — which the chain describes as “irresistibly craveable chicken strips made with juicy, 100% white meat, coated with crispy golden-brown breading and bursting with a bold, new black pepper flavor” — as part of the permanent menu at their United States locations. In addition, the company will debut a new Creamy Chili Dip sauce on the same day. According to McDonald’s, this sauce is “savory, slightly tangy, sweet with a hint of chili pepper heat and a nutty toasted sesame finish,” which makes it the “perfect pairing” for McCrispy Strips.

The McCrispy Strips will be available in three or four-piece offerings, which will be served with one or two Creamy Chili Dip sauce cups, respectively. The Strips can also be paired with the chain’s other signature sauces, including Tangy Barbecue, Spicy Buffalo, and Creamy Ranch.

In speaking about the new strips, Alyssa Buetikofer, the Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s, said in a press release, “The demand for chicken strips has been remarkable to see across the industry, so we knew we had to deliver something so craveable that it was worth the wait. We took our time, listened to our fans and created a product we knew they would crave. And the best part is we’re just getting started.”
