Two of Universal’s new Epic Universe area hotels, Stella Nova and Terra Luna, are NOW OPEN to the public!

If you’re looking to stay at one of these two hotels on your upcoming trip, you may be wondering which one is better to stay at. We’ve experienced both of the sister hotels and we can tell you for sure that there are certainly some perks to one that the other doesn’t have, and it may just be what sways your decision!
Stella Nova
There’s one major perk to staying at Stella Nova that its sister hotel doesn’t have, and that’s the walking path to Epic Universe! We tested this path out ourselves and it takes around five minutes to walk from the front of the hotel to the crosswalk that would take you across the street to the entrance to Epic Universe.

While buses are still available at this hotel for those who aren’t interested in walking, we have a feeling those will get very crowded during opening and closing times, so having a second option can be a major perk for many people. However, if you don’t think you’d use this walking path at all, we wouldn’t count this as a perk!

Additionally, if you’re looking for a hotel that has really unique theming, you’ll enjoy this hotel more than Terra Luna. The space theming at Stella Nova is really out of this world (pun very much intended), and extends from the entrance looking like you’re entering a black hole, to stars on the ceiling in the hallways, and even the rooms having more of a darker space theme.

We think this makes the hotel really intriguing for those that are interested in this theme, but again, if you really couldn’t care less about it, don’t count it as a perk in your book! But if you’ve got space-loving kiddos or you’re just looking for something a little different, it may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Finally, while Stella Nova doesn’t have a free-standing Starbucks like many of the other Universal Orlando hotels, you will find a few Starbucks options located at Cosmos Cafe and Market! It won’t be the full menu you may be used to, but hey, at least it’s something!

Terra Luna
The opposite to its sister hotel, Terra Luna doesn’t go as heavy on the space theme and is overall brighter. Therefore, if you’re looking for a more casual hotel experience or you don’t want a ton of theming, this is likely the hotel you’ll prefer.

Additionally, while the dining options at Stella Nova weren’t bad at all, we were WILDLY impressed with the dining options at Terra Luna — specifically over at Omega Cafe and Market! There’s a phenomenal burger over here called the Terra Burger we’ll be dreaming about for days, and there are tons of options for both picky and adventurous eaters.

Now, a walking path to Epic Universe could be added to this hotel in the future, but we’ll be honest, looking at the layout of the hotel, we don’t see how it would be possible. Regardless, if one is put in, that means there will be MORE construction around this hotel after everything else has already been complete. If that’s something that you may find bothersome on your vacation, this may not be the hotel for you.

We really don’t think there’s a wrong choice here, so whichever hotel you choose for you and your family, it’ll be the right fit. Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Universal Orlando news!
