Disney World is getting a brand-new lounge, and I’m already obsessed with it – even though it isn’t even open yet!

A Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern is coming to Magic Kingdom, and it’s set to open in late 2025. Let’s dive into what we know so far and why this might just be my new favorite spot in all of Disney World!
Themed Atmosphere and Easter Eggs Galore
Disney is known for sprinkling in references and hidden details in their concept art, so let’s dive in there and see what we can find. It looks like this new tavern will be dripping in pirate lore and hidden details that will thrill both casual fans and die-hard Pirates of the Caribbean lovers.

Zooming in, we can see that we could be getting a skull mug as a specialty souvenir drink mug, much like the collector mugs you’ll find at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

But that’s not all. If you take a closer look at the concept art, you’ll spot a nod to the East India Trading Company, a key player in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

Another possibility is that the artwork in the tavern could be interactive! Disney has been experimenting with this feature in different ways throughout the parks and in various attractions. The artwork shown in these concept images could come to life in some way, which would definitely an extra layer of immersion to the experience.

We’re also stoked about the potential return of the Barker Bird! This iconic parrot used to perch outside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, welcoming guests before it was removed.

If this little guy makes a comeback inside the tavern, it would be a fantastic throwback for longtime Disney fans.
Will There Be Alcohol?
Right now, alcohol in Magic Kingdom is mostly limited to sit-down restaurants, but there’s the thought that this new lounge could change that. If it follows a system similar to Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios, guests might need to book an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) to secure a spot – and potentially enjoy a drink or two.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, the possibility of enjoying a themed cocktail (because let’s be honest, it’s a pirate tavern) in Magic Kingdom is definitely intriguing.
Food and Drinks Fit for a Pirate
While the primary focus will likely be drinks, the concept art also hints at light bites being served. Whether it’ll be small plates, shareable bites, or something completely unexpected, we’ll have to wait and see.

Considering how beloved the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction is, I wouldn’t be surprised if the menu takes inspiration from its setting. Maybe some Caribbean-inspired flavors? Coconut, citrus, or spiced elements? We can only hope!
Where Will It Be?
At the moment, one of the biggest mysteries still surrounding this new lounge is its exact location. One of the top contenders is that it will take over the former Tortuga Tavern space. This would make a lot of sense since it’s already in Adventureland, near the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

However, Disney has yet to confirm the exact location, so for now, we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more announcements!
Why I’m Already in Love With This Lounge
There’s something special about a well-themed Disney lounge, and this one looks like it’s shaping up to be incredible. The immersive storytelling, potential for Easter eggs, themed food and drinks, and overall pirate vibes will make this an absolute must-visit when it finally opens. Plus, the idea of having a cozy, atmospheric escape in Adventureland is just too good to pass up.

We still have a long wait ahead of us, but you can bet we’ll be watching for every tiny update along the way. Whether you’re a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, a Disney foodie, or just love a great themed experience, this could easily be one of the best new additions to Magic Kingdom in years.
