It’s time for the 2025 Lunar New Year Festival at Disney California Adventure, and we’re here to provide all kinds of helpful tips and reviews!

Disney California Adventure is celebrating the Year of the Snake and the Lunar New Year from January 17th through February 16th, 2025 with tons of event-exclusive food booths, live entertainment, merchandise, and more! The Festival officially begins on Friday, but we were lucky enough to visit during the soft opening on January 16th! We’re here trying out the eats and taking in the sights, and we’re bringing you all the ins and outs of this year’s festival!
The Lunar New Year Festival celebrates Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese culture with a full-on celebration at California Adventure. We’re big fans of this seriously underrated Disney event, as it pays loving tribute to several cultures while providing some seriously good eats.

When you first arrive, make sure you pick up a festival Tasting Passport! This booklet is your guide to everything. This little thing gives you a map of every Markteplace (booth), provides full menus, lets you know where to find the entertainment areas, and more. If you forget to pick one up or want to go digital, the Disneyland app is also a great resource.

We’ve got a rundown of everything you can expect to see and taste at this year’s Lunar New Year festival, so check out our guide below!

If you’re looking to make the most out of the booths, check out the Sip and Savor Pass. Your handy festival map will give you all the details on this exclusive pass.

The Sip and Savor Pass gets you six digital coupons that can be redeemed for a food item or non-alcoholic beverage at the Marketplaces and at some additional California Adventure locations. These passes are extra worth it if you’re doing a multi-day visit and want to taste something new each day of your visit.

This year’s Lunar New Year Festival offers six Marketplaces in addition to other offerings available at established restaurants at the park. We’re trying everything so stay tuned for our latest reviews to get an inside track on what to try! Last year, we tried 17 new items and had tons of thoughts. Some are even returning this year!
MASSIVE REVIEW: Trying ALL the NEW Items at Disney’s Lunar New Year Festival!

Lots of entertainment gets specially themed for the event as well. Mulan’s New Year Procession is one of the big highlights of the festival and features triumphant music as well as costumed performers doing traditional Chinese dances.

The procession goes from Hollywood Land to Paradise Gardens and even features appearances from Mulan, Mushu, and other Disney characters. Keep an eye out for the special Chinese dragon!

The processional occurs multiple times a day during the festival and showtimes can be found by checking the Disneyland app.

For more themed characters, check out the meet-and-greet with Meilin Lee and Ming Lee from Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red film!

Looking for more character interactions? Head over to Paradise Gardens Gazebo to see more Disney characters in their Lunar New Year attire! Say hi to Mickey and Minnie in all-new colorful Korean attire!

Don’t miss Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration at night! This pre-show is accompanying World of Color – ONE during the festival.

The Lunar New Year Festival also offers hands-on activities. From arts and crafts to plenty of shopping opportunities, there’s a lot going on at this year’s festival.

We’re monitoring crowds, but keep in mind they tend to fluctuate. February isn’t one of Disneyland’s busiest months, but the festival attracts enough attention. The beginning of the festival is usually busier by the tail end, but it’s all tentative, and we can’t necessarily predict how crowded it will become.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on all the latest Lunar New Year Festival and Disneyland Resort news, so stay tuned right here at AllEars to stay in the know!
