Disney’s Polynesian Resort is known for a lot of things.
For years, it’s been known for its highly sought-after dining options, specifically ‘Ohana, but that’s not the only great option at this hotel! During Emma’s “Everything in Disney World” series, she stopped by the Polynesian Village Resort with Sage and friends to check Capt. Cook’s off her list, proving why you should NOT underestimate this spot!
Since it was lunchtime, the gang each got their own dish to fuel them for the rest of the busy day. Emma decided to grab the Pulled Pork Nachos for $10.99. These are topped with cheese, spicy mayo, pico de gallo, and pineapple salsa. She gets them every time she’s at Capt. Cook’s because she loves the house-made chips, and the sweet barbeque and pineapple on top perfectly matches with them. The mayo isn’t actually spicy, just a heads up, and the pico de gallo doesn’t add a ton of flavor, but the added texture is nice!
Sage grabbed the Spicy Korean Chicken Bowl for $12.99, which is crisp Chicken Strips with Gochujang Sauce, Steamed Rice, and Cucumber Namasu. He was halfway through his bowl by the time he actually got around to doing his review because it was that good. It’s two steps above something a picky eater would enjoy because while the ingredients are simple, the chicken has definite spice to it. However, the cucumber cools it down, and the rice is a palate cleanser, so overall, it was a huge hit for us!
DFB Milly went with a theme park classic and grabbed the Chicken Strips for $10.99, which came with fries and a drink. These are just your classic, simple chicken tenders — if you’re pickier or just want something familiar, this is the way to go!
And last but certainly not least, we also grabbed the Pan-Asian Noodles and Vegetables for $10.29. We personally preferred these noodles in comparison to the ones over at ‘Ohana because these are more savory!
Overall, this is a great spot for both picky eaters and those looking for something a little more elevated in the flavor department, making it a great quick service spot for the whole family!

Was there this last week and even their standard burger was delicious. Seating can be a problem. I’ve even resorted to eating in the lobby.
Great idea. Since you can go to the Magic Kingdom and leave the park and go back in, what a great idea to take a break from lines and crowds. Going to the Polynesian, You can walk or take the monorail or a boat, it gives you options. And you can check out the Polynesian as a potential future place to stay while you are there. And those dining selections look great, likely no reservation required. I imagine you could order on your phone and have lunch or dinner ready when you arrive.
