Want to bring Pirates of the Caribbean home? Then you’d better head over to… EPCOT?
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most beloved properties in Disney’s stable. What began as a single attraction in Disneyland has grown into a massive intellectual property with rides spread across the globe and a billion-dollar-grossing film franchise. The level of popularity has led to a legion of fans who want to take the sights, sounds, and… smells of the attraction home with them.
If you’re a major fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction who wants to bring the… unique smell home with you, there is a Disney World souvenir you can pick up. However, you can’t find it near Pirates of the Caribbean, or in Adventureland, or even in the Magic Kingdom. You’ll need to travel around the world… in a manner of speaking.
Make your way to EPCOT’s World Showcase, specifically the Japanese Pavilion. There you’ll find the Mitsukoshi Department Store. This longtime EPCOT shopping spot is the only current North American outpost of the large and long-running — they trace their origins to the 1600s — Japanese department store chain, and offers a unique mixture of authentic Japanese items for sale, including a certain incense.
Believe it or not, the Nippon Kodo Japanese Incense’s Aqua variety smells remarkably like the water on Pirates of the Caribbean. So if you really want to take that ocean/sea salt scent home, you can grab some of this incense before heading home.
Not going to EPCOT anytime soon? That’s actually not a problem! The incense is also available on Amazon!
Now granted, that doesn’t have the same “directly from Disney World” appeal, but it’s the same scent and gets the job done!
If you’re looking to bring the familiar scent of Walt Disney World’s Pirates of the Caribbean into your home, look no further than this incense, which is available at EPCOT’s Japanese Pavilion, as well as on Amazon. Stay tuned to AllEars for further Disney shopping tips.
