It’s not the best news to hear when an attraction you were looking forward to on your trip is announced as closed.
Refurbishments, routine maintenance, and so many other factors can come into play, causing attractions to temporarily close for days, weeks, and even months on end. And sorry to break it to you, but a classic attraction is now officially closed at Magic Kingdom.
No, we’re not joking around here (although the attraction is famous for its fair share of puns), Jungle Cruise is officially closed starting today, August 26th, 2024, until October 18th, 2024.
Not many details have been released about what changes will come with the closure, but we guess it’s routine maintenance as well as touch-ups here and there to freshen up the attraction.
Refurbishments are very common at Disney World, with Peter Pan’s Flight having just opened last week after undergoing one. With this refurbishment came an update to one of the ride’s scenes, and even then the attraction opened up earlier than expected. So there is still hope that Jungle Cruise might be up and running again sooner rather than later!
But if you’re arriving at Magic Kingdom on the dates when Jungle Cruise is closed and still want to experience the iconic vibes, Skipper Canteen is a table service restaurant themed after the classic attraction.
Here, guests can enjoy “World Famous Jungle Cuisine” in a variety of unique dining rooms, like a crew mess hall or a hidden secret meeting room belonging to the legendary Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
The restaurant’s staff are Jungle Cruise Skippers, so although you won’t be able to adventure in a boat with one, you can at least discover a world of adventurous cuisine with them as your guide.
There are still tons of amazing attractions to experience at Magic Kingdom, so you’re trip will surely be magical despite this closure.
