Jungle Cruise Re-opening Date Confirmed in Disney World

From brief closures for technical difficulties and bad weather to extended refurbishments to touch up the rides a bit, it’s fairly common for Disney World rides to occasionally close. Coming soon, a classic Magic Kingdom ride is closing for refurbishment…and now we’ve got more information!

Starting on August 26th, Jungle Cruise is temporarily closing for refurbishment. Disney hasn’t shared details about what updates will be made to the ride, but this is likely just a routine refurbishment since the attraction got an overhaul a few years ago.

According to the Disney World app, the ride is set to reopen on October 18th, 2024. It remains on the refurbishment list through October 17th. This means that it will be open in time for the holiday season to kick off in November!

Each year for the holiday and Christmas season, the Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise. It gets holiday-themed decor and the skippers will tell holly jolly jokes and puns while you ride through the rivers of the world. This overlay is typically available both during the daytime and during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

We’ll keep a close eye on the ride to see if anything changes with the refurbishment. If you’re visiting from August to October, keep these closure dates in mind so that you’re not surprised when you arrive at the park.
