19 Dates to AVOID EPCOT in 2025

OK, Disney fans. Are you planning a trip to EPCOT? Maybe avoid these days.

EPCOT

While we love going to EPCOT any time of the year, there are definitely some days that are better to avoid than others. Whether because they fall near a holiday, the launch of a festival, or another Disney event, these dates bring large crowds down on the park and will be best to avoid, if possible, in 2025.

Holidays

First off, there are the dates that Disney has no control over: Holidays. While any holiday where many schools and offices are closed draws larger crowds, some are way bigger than others.

This especially goes for days like the 4th of July and New Year’s Eve, which feature massive extra fireworks displays.

Magic Kingdom

These major holidays — and the weekends around them — are probably best to avoid if you’re not a fan of large, overbearing crowds and long waits.

  • January 17th to January 20th: Martin Luther King Day Weekend
  • February 14th to February 23rd: Presidents Day Weekend/Week
  • March-April: General Spring Break Period
  • April 18th to April 20th: Easter Weekend
  • May 23rd to May 26th: Memorial Day Weekend
  • July 3rd to July 6th: 4th of July Weekend
  • August 29th to September 1st: Labor Day Weekend
  • October 10th to October 13th: Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend
  • December 25th: Christmas
  • December 31st: New Year’s Eve

Festival Days

EPCOT has some POPULAR annual festivals in the park. Each of these unique events draws big crowds across their respective runs. However, that said, the biggest dates to avoid — besides those that correspond with the holidays listed above — are their respective opening and closing days.

Flower & Garden Festival

While Disney hasn’t shared the specific dates for the 2025 festivals yet, we can guess when they’re going to be scheduled based on their 2024 dates.

  • Festival of the Arts Opening Day (Roughly mid-January based on the 2024 date)
  • Festival of the Arts Closing Day (Roughly mid-February based on the 2024 date)
  • Flower & Garden Opening Day (Roughly end of February based on 2024 date)
  • Flower & Garden Closing Day (Roughly end of May based on 2024 date)
  • Food & Wine Festival Opening Day (Roughly near the end of August based on 2024 date)
  • Food & Wine Festival Closing Day (Roughly mid-November based on 2024 date)
  • Festival of Holidays Opening Day (Roughly late November based on 2024 date)

runDisney Events

While runDisney events are a ton of fun for those who compete in the various races and their guests, they can cause headaches for others who simply want to visit the Walt Disney World Resort’s theme parks. As far as EPCOT goes, if you want to avoid the race crush, we’d advise steering clear of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend (January 8th through the 12th) and Wine & Dine Marathon Weekend (Disney has yet to release the dates, but based on the 2924 dates, we can sometime in the end of October/beginning of November range).

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World trip for 2025 but wish to avoid massive crowds and the wait times that come with them, we’d recommend avoiding EPCOT on these days. Stay tuned to AllEars for further Walt Disney World calendar updates.
