Only Disney Experts Will Recognize This CHANGE in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland

When you’re way up high, it’s probably not a good idea to look down. But in Disney World? Look down! Stare at that ground! Why? Well, Disney hides all kinds of fun surprises in its floors.

Storybook Circus in Magic Kingdom

We’ve seen everything from horseshoe prints to seashells embedded in the concrete around Disney World’s parks — it really adds to the feeling of being totally immersed in a different land. Yes, we’ll admit it. As official Disney experts, we know the Magic Kingdom floors pretty well at this point, so we take notice when something NEW comes along. Could this new Adventureland detail be a clue? Let’s talk about it!

Take a look at the new construction we spotted in Magic Kingdom! This new concrete — full of tons of interesting details — is located near the entrance of Adventureland.

New floor alert!

It certainly stands out against the surrounding (and very PLAIN) concrete. We’re hoping that Disney will eventually update the rest of the floor to match this new patch.

Here’s a closer peek!

If you look closely, you’ll see all kinds of wildlife footprints embedded in the concrete. There are touches of a verdigris-like patina that really give the floor a nice, worn look. Considering how busy this section of Adventureland gets, we have a feeling this concrete will be well-worn in no time.

We LOVE when Disney does this to the ground!

Speaking of new concrete, this nature-infused concrete got us thinking about another section of Magic Kingdom in need of an update. Over by Frontierland, Disney announced that a NEW Cars Land will replace both the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. This new land will be inspired by the Great American West, so we’re picturing an alpine-y region with lots of trees and greenery.

Based on that description, it sounds like we could see a forest floor with lots of animal footprints, mossy elements, and maybe some patina to give the land that “worn” look. Sound familiar? Could Disney’s new Adventureland concrete be like a test of sorts?

Of course, Disney hasn’t made any announcements about its reasoning behind the new concrete in Adventureland, but it does seem like that Adventureland ground could easily fit into all kinds of other sections of the park, don’t you think?

Coming to Frontierland at Magic Kingdom, a new area themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Cars” will leave Radiator Springs and head to the wilderness with two new attractions including an off-road race. (Disney)

  1. Seriously? Spending money to put footprints in concrete? No one is looking DOWN they need to be watching strollers…ECVs… people carrying open cups of beer( yes had one spilled on me) bad use of money

  2. Doing away with the River of America and the Steam Boat is sad. Tom Sawyer’s Island could have been turned into something really nice if they’d only used their brains to think about it. Cars in Frontierland – REALLY? WHY? Cars of any kind don’t belong there. Maybe in the same area as Fantasyland. Disney has so much land they can build on why take away an area that people love and enjoy? Like I said Tom Sawyer’s Island could be made into a nice place to eat, or an adventure where the story of Tom and Huck is told as you walk around the island. Look what’s happened since they took away the beloved Splash Mountain and put in the Tiana’s Ride. They can’t keep it running and now looks like they’ll have to sink more money into it. What a waste, they should have left Splash Mountain alone. People loved it as it was and those at Disney who thought they knew better ruined it. Who ever is running Disney is allowing it to be ruined and that’s sad. Walt Disney build a beautiful dream for children and families and it is being allowed to be destroyed by the “woke folks” who currently work at Disney. My husband and I were looking forward to another vacation at Disney World but are seriously thinking about going to Universal on our next trip to Orlando. We’ve heard and read so many sad accounts of the way the parks are being run and we don’t want to see what we love so much be ruined. We hope those in charge start remembering what Walt Disney’s vision was and start heading back in that directions. Thanks for letting me vent
