We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure.

The Disney Treasure will set sail this December. This new ship is a sister ship to the Disney Wish and is part of the Triton Class of ships. Disney has been giving us sneak peeks at what will be on board. We can’t lie—we are incredibly excited about the Haunted Mansion Parlor and the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea lounge named Periscope Pub. But before we get too excited, let’s talk about what you need to know about boarding the Disney Treasure so that way you are prepared when it comes time to hit the high seas!
The Disney Treasure will set sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, one of two permanent Disney Cruise Line home ports. It will start sailing the identical seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises that the Disney Fantasy is currently sailing out of Port Canaveral. Still, the Fantasy will be relocated in May of 2025, and the Disney Magic will take its place.

The boarding process of the Disney Treasure will be almost identical to that of the other five ships currently sailing, and it will be even more straightforward since the Disney Treasure will be sailing out of a Disney-owned cruise terminal.

Check-In Process Before Sailing
Check-in will work the same way. Those with Pearl Castaway Club status can start checking in 40 days before the sail date. Platinum Castaway Club members can start checking in 38 days before. Gold Castaway Club members can begin checking in 35 days before, and Silver Castaway Club members can start checking 33 days before. Those who have not sailed with Disney Cruise Line will be able to check in 30 days before.

Check-in for all levels opens at midnight EST during their selected window. The earlier you check-in, the better boarding group number you will get. But don’t stress too much if you get a later boarding time; that just means you can spend more time sleeping or traveling to the cruise terminal.

Transportation to the Cruise Terminal
Once check-in is complete, the countdown for your cruise is set! On the day of your cruise, you will head to the terminal. Parking is available in the parking garage for a daily fee if you bring your car. You can also choose to be dropped off or take advantage of Disney’s bus pick-up if you are staying at a Disney World hotel or are arriving at the Orlando International Airport.

Dropping Off Your Luggage
You should receive your luggage tags in the mail before your cruise. If you forgot your tags or they did not arrive in time, porters will be standing by with tags for you to fill out. If you do not have any bags to drop off, you can take your bags directly onto the ship with you.

12 Things You MUST Pack For a Disney Cruise!
Security
Before heading into the cruise terminal, you will need to go through security first. Depending on the time of day, you may be able to enter security before your PAT (Port Arrival Time); otherwise, you will have to wait until your time is called to join the security screening area.

Once your PAT rolls around, you can enter the security screening area. There are different lines for different levels of Castaway Club status. In most cases, the security line for Pearl and Platinum cruisers is shorter. Right before security, a Disney Cruise Line representative will check everyone’s boarding documents and make sure everyone’s pictures that were submitted during check-in are approved. Once your documents are checked your bags will be screened, and then you can take the escalator to the terminal.

Boarding
The terminal has screens that let you know what groups have been called, and announcements are made to notify you when your group is called. While you wait, if you have any questions, you can visit with a Disney Cruise Line representative at one of the many desks in the terminal.

You will not have to worry about picking up your Key to the World card before boarding, as they are waiting for you outside of your stateroom.

When your boarding group is called, you can head through the big Mickey and start your cruise! You can also choose to take an optional picture before boarding.

Once through the Mickey tunnel, your boarding documents will be inspected to make sure everything looks good before you board. This also officially scans you and your party onto the ship.

Once the check-in process is done, you will head to the boarding bridge and wait your turn to be introduced onto the ship. It is so exciting to hear “Disney Treasure, Please Welcome Aboard [insert party name here]!” because this means your cruise has officially started!

You can head up to Marceline Market for lunch or dine at the open table service location plus the quick-service option near the pool deck will also be available for your dining pleasure.

Staterooms are generally ready around 1:30PM. When this time comes, you can head to your room and pick up your Key to the World cards, which will be outside your stateroom door.

The boarding process can be different based on what port you are sailing out of, but since the Disney Treasure will start to sail out of Port Canaveral, the boarding process should remain similar to the other five ships.
