The Disney Treasure will set sail on its maiden voyage on December 21st, 2024, which means we’re getting a lot of updates about the ship as its construction gets closer to completion. We recently got our first look at the ship’s stern with Captain Hook and Peter Pan, as well as a sneak peek at the staterooms on the ship. Now, the ship’s construction has reached a HUGE milestone.
The ship is currently under construction at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. However, the Disney Treasure recently came out of the building it was being constructed in and docked in the shipyard harbor. A tugboat led the way, guiding the ship the the narrow doorway of the building and into the shipyard.
This “Float Oat” celebrates the completion of the ship’s exterior and is a HUGE maritime deal and tradition, so there was a crowd of spectators on hand to join in on the celebration. Even Captain Minnie Mouse was there to cheer on the new ship.
This means that all of the exterior of the ship is now finished and all that’s left is touching up the interior venues before it takes its transatlantic voyage that will lead it to its home port in Port Canaveral, Florida. So this is a very exciting milestone and brings the Treasure one step closer to its maiden voyage.
