The Treasure will have favorites that are aboard all of Disney Cruise Line’s ships, like fireworks at sea, rotational dining, and Broadway-style shows. Of course, there will be state-of-the-art kids’ clubs and even fun spaces for the adults. There is one adult lounge that we are super excited to go to, and that is the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Pub.
The design of this pub will have a 19th-century steampunk vibe along with polished metals and industrial touches. According to Disney, “A mysterious window into the depths of the uncharted oceans along the ceiling will give you a chance to feel like Captain Nemo on the Nautilus, while a decorative statement rug in the center of the space will honor Captain Nemo’s fabled nemesis, the giant squid.”
This pub will be a casual area onboard the Treasure that will allow passengers to watch live sports or news while being able to order drinks and light bites. While a totally different theme, this sounds like this pub will be like O’Gills Pub on the Disney Magic or Pub 687 on the Disney Dream when it comes to having TVs and brews.
From the concept art, the ceiling looks like it mimics being under the sea, which is fitting since we are supposed to be transported 20,000 leagues under the sea. The lighting in this pub is really cool as it is a darker and more casual area to hang out and grab a drink before or after dinner.
There are also portholes in the pub, now a classic cruise ship staple, and especially on Disney Cruise Line is portholes. We wonder if these portholes will be actual portholes or, instead, be like the magic portholes that can be found inside staterooms in Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. It would be so cool to be given the illusion that we are actually on the Nautilus underwater.
Behind the bar, it looks like the control room of the Nautilus, which we love since the bartenders run the pub! The lighting is gold around here and really draws attention to the bar.
In the concept art, we spotted a Mickey pretzel! This is very exciting since Mickey Pretzels have yet to make their debut on Disney Cruise Line. It seems like the Periscope Pub will be the place to grab a Mickey Pretzel; the only thing that could make it better is if they also serve it with a side of plastic cheese!
We are looking forward to getting to sail the high seas aboard the Disney Treasure this upcoming December!
