I Was a Haunted Mansion Cast Member, and I NEED to See These Things in the NEW Disney Treasure Lounge

The Haunted Mansion: where hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. It’s also where I spent a LOT of time previously.

Yep, I was a Haunted Mansion maid at Disney World, and it took my love for the iconic ride to a whole new level. So, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that a first-of-its kind Haunted Mansion lounge would be aboard the all-new Disney Treasure ship.

While Disney already seems to be KILLING it (get it?) when it comes to making sure that the lounge does the Haunted Mansion justice, there are just a few nods to the attraction that I’m begging them to bring to the lounge. Of course, you can click the link below to see all the super cool things we already know are coming to the spot.

I’ll provide a brief backstory, though, just so everything makes sense. The idea behind the bar is that a captain who had a “disastrous dinner with his beloved fiance” is your Ghost Host at the new digs. Yep, it sounds like he made the mistake of falling for Constance Hatchaway, the Haunted Mansion’s serial killing bride. Oops. We’ve all made relationship mistakes.

Anyway, Disney tells us we can already expect to see familiar things like the Hitchhiking Ghosts, the iconic wallpaper, and the purple armchair. However, there are some things that I would LOVE to see come to the lounge. Let’s talk about it!

Lucifer

In the conservatory scene of the Haunted Mansion ride, where the guy is yelling to be let out of the casket,  you’ll notice that there’s a black raven that sits on the casket. Cast Members have named this fellow Lucifer, and they actually say hello to him every morning. It’s rumored that if Cast Members don’t say hello to Lucifer each day and give him a pat on the head before the park opens, weird things start to happen.

Lucifer TOTALLY needs to be at the Haunted Mansion Parlor just watchin’ over everybody. It just needs to happen. Like, just imagine him perching on something in the lounge and just eerily sitting there.

Grim Grinning Ghosts

The entire time you’re at the Mansion, you’ll hear some version of “Grim Grinning Ghosts.” Yes, in the queue, the ride, and in the exit queue, you’ll hear versions of the song in different tempos/keys.

There needs to be a SEA SHANTY VERSION OF THE SONG AT THE PARLOR! I will not rest until there is a sea shantified “Grim Grinning Ghosts” playing as I enjoy a beverage. Thank you and goodbye.

Constance’s Wedding Ring

If you look closely in the queue right before you enter the holding area before you enter the Mansion, you’ll spot Constance’s wedding ring on the ground. It’s a small, subtle detail that only real Haunted Mansion fans know about!

Since the Captain is yet another one of Constance’s victims, we think that another wedding ring should be placed somewhere in the room. Maybe on the bar? 👀

Singing Busts

In the graveyard scene of the Haunted Mansion ride, you’ll see and hear the singing busts!

We totally think that there should be some sailor busts to sing and greet guests as they enter the lounge! Maybe there could even be an interactive element to them. Just give us our singing busts!

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is the first lounge themed to the iconic ride, and you can experience it yourself aboard the Disney Treasure, which debuts on the high seas this December.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news and fun speculative posts like these, so make sure to follow along so that you never miss a thing and are always in the loop.
