MASSIVE REVIEW: We Tried TONS of New Snacks at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Spooky season is upon us, friends!

Mickey Pumpkins!

We attended the very first night of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024 and not only did we check out all the entertainment, character meet and greets, and ride overlays, but we have to try all the new eats you can ONLY grab during the party! Here’s your one-stop shop for which ones are worth your time, and which ones you should skip!

Golden Oak Outpost

Here you can grab the Chocolate-Caramel Tart for $5.79. This is made with a chocolate tart shell filled with chocolate ganache, caramel sauce, and caramel cream topped with TWIX Cookie Bar Pieces and a chocolate piece.

Tart

Disney turned a TWIX bar into a tart…and we are NOT mad about it! You can definitely tell all of those TWIX flavors are in there. It’s quite sweet but if you are a fan of the candy, we think you’ll enjoy it. Just bring some napkins because this gets messy QUICK.

You can also grab the Sweet-and-Spicy Beignets for $6.99! Yes — sweet AND spicy! These treats are dusted with berry and cayenne and served with a chicory coffee-chocolate sauce.

Myranda is ready!

The beignets themselves are nice and fluffy like the regular ones you’d get here during the day. The dust is a bit salty, a bit sweet, and has a small kick to it. The sauce has a coffee flavor that we noticed immediately.

Beignets

Dipping the beignet in the sauce was interesting — it may not be for everyone, but sweet and spicy fans will enjoy!

Storybook Treats

The Anastasia Cone for $6.79 is new this year! To match Anastasia’s red hair, the cone is made with DOLE Whip Strawberry with lemon curd and strawberry popping candies with a chocolate piece.

Anastasia Cone

The lemon flavor is light since the curd is only drizzled over the top, but it adds a nice tartness. The Strawberry DOLE Whip was good, however, you can get it in the Aurora Cone here so it’s not anything super unique. There are more exciting options at the party!

Fry tried the Anastasia Cone!

You can also grab the Drizella Cone for $6.79! Blueberry fans — this is for you! It’s made with blueberry soft-serve with vanilla crispy pearls and a chocolate piece.

Drizella Cone

Even though this is said to be blueberry soft serve, the blueberry flavor was faint. If you told us this was a vanilla ice cream with blue dye, we would believe you! On the other hand, it was creamy and refreshing, and the pearls had a nice crunch.

Blueberry fans expecting that flavor will probably be disappointed and again, there are more unique options to try.

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

If you’re looking for something a little savory, grab the Hand-dipped Corn Dog for $10.29. It comes with spicy violet mustard and spicy cheese-flavored snacks (AKA Hot Cheetos).

Spooky corn dog!

The mustard by itself had a kick to it, but with the sweet corn dog batter, it’s not very spicy at all. The corn dog itself is your typical Sleepy Hollow corn dog and the chips on top didn’t add much more than a crunch. They made it a bit messy to eat!

Not too spicy

The Madame Leota Séance Candle made with layers of red velvet cake and cookies and cream mousse is also available for $5.99!

Haunted Mansion themed treat

Need a sugary pick-me-up? This is your treat. The red velvet cake was a bit on the dry side and the mousse is very sweet. This isn’t something we’d likely eat again, but we will say the crispy pearls inside were a fun touch!

A look at the cake

Funnel cake fans, rejoice! The Dulce de Leche, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate Sauce Funnel Cake is available during the party for $8.99! Yes, you read that right. It’s a classic funnel cake topped with dulce de leche ice cream, SNICKERS Bar Pieces, and whipped cream. Is it as good as it sounds?

Funnel Cake

This treat is FULL of rich flavors as you can tell by the description, but the ice cream was a nice way to balance that out. The peanut butter was the strongest of the flavors and we kind of lost the dulce de leche flavor.

Peanut butter and chocolate lovers will be happy with this and it was our favorite of the three items we tried here! We recommend sharing because this thing is huge.

Outdoor Vending Location Near The Haunted Mansion

Grab yourself the spooky Tombstone Tart for $5.99 while you’re over here! It’s a sugar dough filled with cookies and cream cheese mousse and Halloween décor like the iconic Haunted Mansion tombstones!

Tombstone Tart

Right off the bat, this reminded us of a PopTart. Warning — it is VERY dry. The filling was kind of sticky in our mouths and the more we chewed, the more there was to chew. The texture was strange, so we probably would skip this one!

Main Street Bakery

Over on Main Street, you can grab the Minnie Witch Hat for $7.99. This classic is made with a chocolate cookie topped with peanut butter mousse, milk chocolate ganache, and buttercream.

We hope you like peanut butter…because it nearly slaps you in the face. But to us, it was in a good way! The cookie on the bottom is pretty hard, but crumbles easily in your mouth.

Minnie Witch Hat

The mouse is light and covered in purple sugar while the orange is the buttercream. It’s a one-and-done for us based on the price…but it does photograph beautifully!

A look inside

Although many of the exclusive treats are not available until the party starts at 7PM, we were able to grab this around 6PM. It is not guaranteed this will happen to you but we wanted to share our experience!

Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

There’s more than regular ice cream over here! During the party, you can grab the Cinnamon-Apple Sundae made with dulce de leche ice cream topped with caramel sauce, apple pie filling, cinnamon candies, and whipped cream for $7.79.

Sundae

All of the flavors worked really well together…except one. The cinnamon candies on top threw us off a bit! They get harder and harder as they sit on the ice cream making them hard to chew. It also melted super quickly and started spilling over the bowl, so get ready to chow down fast!

Or you can snag the Graveyard Milk Shake for $8.49. This treat is a chocolate milk shake with a dipped graveyard jelly doughnut, white chocolate tombstone, gummy candy, and a Haunted Mansion straw.

Graveyard Milk Shake

First of all, this shake was thick! It was a standard chocolate milk shake served with a paper straw…but don’t let it sit too long or the straw gives out on you. There is also a layer of cookie crumbles which can complicate things with the straw, too!

Let’s give it a try!

The donut on top has a colorful glaze and the inside has a raspberry filling, but it’s not overflowing. At the end of the day, it’s a standard shake so we’d prioritize something else since there are so many treats at the party!

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Café

Savory fans, grab yourself the Grilled Masa Flatbread for $12.99. This isn’t any ordinary flatbread! It’s grilled corn cake topped with butternut squash purée, braised chicken, cilantro-pumpkin seed sauce, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and queso fresco.

We loved this! It felt like a big taco with tons of toppings and we thought it was fun. All of the flavors meshed well together.

Flatbread

The Spiced Chocolate Mousse Bar (which is spiced chocolate mousse, dulce de leche, orange glaze, and a sugar candy) is also available for $6.99.

This is a rich and decadent treat. It did stain our hands, so beware! It had a slight orange taste which went well with the chocolate.

Mousse Bar

If you’re looking for something refreshing, grab yourself the Guava Lemonade Slushy for $6.49! It is topped with cheesecake foam, Halloween sprinkles, and sugar candy.

Slushy

We also enjoyed this! The guava flavor really shone through here. The topping is interesting because it has a cheesecake foam making it thicker than normal whipped cream. You can ask to leave that off though and the Cast Member will!

Pinocchio Village Haus

The Creepy Clam Flatbread topped with bacon, black ink pesto, Romano, and Calabrian chile aïoli has us VERY nervous, but we’re here to try it for you anyway! It’ll cost you $13.79.

We have one question here — WHY?! We were expecting clam flavor but what threw us off the most was that mixed with the bacon. It doesn’t have the best first impression, but we actually ended up liking the black ink pesto and chile aioli. If it just had those two things, we’d order it again. It’s definitely unique though!

Yes, that’s a CLAM flatbread

You can also grab the Spicy Meatball Arrabbiata Flatbread for $13.29. It’s topped with Meatballs, spicy tomato sauce, provolone, Calabrian chiles, and basil pesto.

Disney did not lie when they meant SPICY. Red pepper flakes are sprinkled all over so and mixed with the spicy tomato sauce giving us a solid kick! The meatball was pretty average and overall it was a decent meal, just be prepared for that spice!

Spicy Flatbread

As well as the Sweet and Spicy Chicken Strips for $9.99 — there are a lot of savory options here! These may look basic compared to the wild options on the menu here, but it’s tossed in Korean barbecue sauce and topped with black sesame seeds, fried garlic, and green onions.

It’s hard to go wrong with chicken tenders in a theme park and this sauce really took them to the next level! It was tangy and had a typical sweet and sour sauce flavor.

Chicken Strips

But you can also grab a sweet vanilla cake with fruity cereal mousse called the Swinging Wake Cake here for $5.49!

We’ll admit, we were a bit skeptical about the fruity cereal mousse…but it was good! It tasted more like cheesecake. Although it says it’s made with vanilla cake, we mostly noticed the mousse, but we didn’t mind! Our only complaint was the odd aftertaste.

A gorgeous cake

Or the Boo Raspberry Slushy for $6.29. On top, you’ll find marshmallow foam and a marshmallow ghost!

BOO!

This tasted like cotton candy to us more so than blue raspberry. We’d probably skip this in the future because although the ghost on top is cute, there’s not much going on.

The Friar’s Nook

Also in Fantasyland, you can grab the Spicy Pork Spring Roll served with charred pineapple and scallion dust here for $8.99.

Spring Roll

This is really delicious! At first, it tastes like a cheeseburger spring roll you can get at the cart in Adventureland…but then you taste the pineapple and it adds another layer to it! It’s walkable, and not too expensive for what you get — we’d highly recommend giving this a try!

Time to eat!

Or you can grab the delicious-sounding S’mores Cup with layers of graham cracker crumbles, chocolate ganache, chocolate popping candies, milk chocolate panna cotta, and marshmallow cream. It’ll cost you $5.99!

Not gonna lie, this made us giggle

Our first thought was “How cute?!” This thing is THICK and the popping candies in the middle are unavoidable (they were not our favorite).

Kids will love this treat and it’s a step above a basic dirt and worms dessert.

Liberty Square Market

The last spot! You can grab the Skull Blondie for $5.29 — this one isn’t exactly new, but it is a new flavor this year. It’s a maple blondie with caramel sauce, but the looks are what make this so spooky!

Skull Blondie

First and foremost we have to warn you about something. On Disney’s original list, this treat is at Liberty Square Market. However, that spot closes at 8:30PM, and then the treats move over to Sleepy Hollow. So keep that in mind if you want to try it!

So how did it taste? We can tell this has been sitting in a fridge because it was cold, hard, and dense making it hard to cut through. BUT, the flavors were really nice! The spices and maple in here really shone through. The outside “skull” part was really sugary as well as the caramel sauce.

We’re scared…

But you didn’t think we would stop there did you?! NO! We took another trip back down Main Street U.S.A. to pick up a few more treats. Our first stop brought us out to Hub Churro Cart for the Oogie Boogie Cupcake! This treat is made of a chocolate cupcake with marshmallow buttercream, cookies and cream buttercream, gummy candy, and an Oogie Boogie chocolate piece which cost us $6.25!

Oogie Boogie Cupcake

You’ll want to watch this one though because its presentation plays a trick on you when you first get it! If you’re not careful  opening up (or biting into) the cupcake you could wind up covered in bright green goo (buttercream icing)!

Inside the cupcake

Don’t let that stop you from chowing down on this tasty treat though! We loved how soft the buttercream icing was at the top and all of the chocolate cookie pieces mixed in gave it a true cookies ‘n cream vibe. What we really loved most about it though was how fresh it tasted and that the icing didn’t leave that sticky thick coating in the top of your mouth after you’ve taken a bite. The gummy worms were a nice touch since Oogie Boogie is filled with bugs, but they and the character white chocolate piece just lent a hand to the overall look of the cupcake and not so much in the taste.

Take a bite

Turning around we came face to face with Casey’s Corner! Here we had our sights set on the Mickey-shaped Cheesecake — the lucky treat we were so eager to try out!

Mickey-shaped Cheesecake

You can pick up this treat for $6.29 and it’s made of pumpkin cheesecake with graham cracker crust and white chocolate whipped ganache. Just look at how smoothly we were able to cut through this treat!

Cheesecake, mmmm!

This one had great flavor to it that might make you a bit nervous to try on paper but we’re happy to report that it translated very well in the execution. The whipped ganache felt more like a lightly flavored whipped cream and against the pumpkin cheesecake it was almost like popping a bite of pumpkin pie in your mouth! The graham cracker crust just melted and crumbled in your mouth against the thicker but smooth cheesecake base. It was a great addition to this year’s line up and we hope to see it return again in the future!

So creamy!

We still had some unfinished business left over in Tomorrowland so we set our heading for Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe! There were several new treats and eats to pick up here so we had our work cut out for us! We picked up the Ube Green Tea Slushy, the Halloween Pot Roast Sandwich, and the Sinister Satay Burger all together!

New food at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe

The Sinister Satay Burger caught our attention with a wiff of its smell alone! It’s made of a cocoa-rubbed all-beef patty with bacon, lime pickles, and Thai peanut sauce all on a black bun for $13.79. It also comes with a side so we chose fries with ours.

Sinister Satay Burger

When we picked it up we could smell the Thai peanut sauce in it which really smelled a lot like peanut butter! But that seemed to be the standout in this burger, unfortunately. While the other toppings like the lime pickles and bacon strips were great, they just felt too much like a regular burger you could pick up at Cosmic Ray’s during the daytime so they weren’t as exciting additions as the peanut sauce was.

Inside peek

It was a great burger for when you’re hungry, but if you’re looking for something that will really blow you away and isn’t truly unique to what you can get during the regular park hours, this might not be your best option to scramble for first.

Cross section of the burger

Then we turned our attention to the Halloween Pot Roast Sandwich and we’ve just got two words for you on this one — melted cheese! This sandwich is served on the same black dyed bun as the burger except it’s filled with pot roast meat, topped with cheddar and horseradish mayonnaise and will cost you $12.99 with a side.

Halloween Pot Roast Sandwich

Y’all — when we say this thing was packed with pot roast flavored meat we mean it! Seriously it tasted so much like a home made pot roast that it felt like it was pulled straight out of the slow cooker and served up on the bun. When we took the top of the bun off, we could see there was layers (PLURAL) of cheese in between each meat layer which was actively melting when it was served to us in the wrapped foil.

Meat and cheese layers

We went to bed dreaming about this sandwich and Myranda literally took one home with her! It was seriously THAT good and such a different spin on savory item to get from MNSSHP that you truly couldn’t get anywhere else in the parks. Myranda also mentioned she’d LOVE to see this come to the regular day menu once the parties are over and thinks this could be single-handedly become a redeeming addition to the day menu for the restaurant (we believe along with you, girl)!

So delicious

Of course we had to have something to wash it down with so we also picked up the new Ube Green Tea Slushy! This frightful friend looks like it’s got a lot going on (and make no mistake it does), but all in the best way! It’ll cost you $6.49 and is made of a deep purple Green Tea and Ube flavored slush topped with cherry flavored whipped cream, and covered in a fun deep red drizzle, red cinnamon candies, and a white chocolate tombstone.

Ube Green Tea Slushy

This whole concoction of a beverage felt like (and tasted) like a fever dream gone right! Literally everything here was working so well together. The green tea and Ube flavor had a nice pucker element to it while the cherry whipped topping, red drizzle, and the cinnamon candies kept the sweet and heat coming! The tombstone piece was just for decoration and was fun to munch on chocolate in between sips but seriously this is one that we will loose our minds over if we don’t see it return again next year!

Definitely a favorite

That about rounds out our tasty trip around Magic Kingdom trying out all the new sweets, eats, and treats for this year’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We hope you’ll be picking up a few of our favorites to try out for yourself when you’re attending, too!
