I Really Can’t Believe I Have To Say This, But Please DO NOT Do These Things at Disney World Restaurants

Alright, fam, it’s time to have a little chat about Disney World dining etiquette.

Now, generally, dining in Disney World tends to be one of the best experiences you can have, but there has been some behavior that’s making it feel a bit like the Wild West out here. To that point, we didn’t think we’d have to do this, but let’s talk about some of the things you shouldn’t do at Disney World restaurants!

Letting Your Kids Free Roam

First up, we all love kids. They’re adorable and full of wonder, but Disney World restaurants are not their backyard.

Chef Mickey’s

Case in point — I once sat next to a family who decided to let their toddler roam free. This tiny (adorable) tornado not only stole things from my table but also crawled under it and chucked my fanny pack on the floor.

Also, can we talk about buffet lines? If you’re letting your little ones navigate the buffet solo, that’s a disaster just waiting to happen.

It’s like giving them a green light to create a mess of epic proportions for you and the hardworking Cast Members who have to clean it all up.

Taking Off Your Shoes

Listen, I hear you. I can totally understand why you would want to take your shoes off. Disney World days are long, and your feet are probably begging for mercy.

Let’s keep all the shoes and flip flops on at all times!

But, please, oh please, resist the urge to take off your shoes at the restaurant. The restaurant isn’t our living room, and no one wants to see (or smell) our bare feet while they’re trying to enjoy their Mickey-shaped delicacies.

Treating Your Server Poorly

Here’s what we find to be universally true: servers work insanely hard, and Disney servers are no exception. They deal with huge crowds, special dietary requests, and sometimes, less-than-magical attitudes every single day. The least we can do is tip them fairly.

We just want to make it known that our servers are out here making sure our dining experiences are top-notch, and it’s our responsibility to appreciate them for it.

  1. I hate seeing children let loose to run around in restaurants. Not only the points that you made in this article, but it’s also dangerous as well. A server could be carrying lots of hot food, a toddler careers into them & wham! The food goes everywhere, potentially burning the server & the toddler.
