Grabbing Disney World dining reservations can sometimes be a breeze, but for some restaurants, it’s nearly impossible.

While some less popular Disney World table service restaurants like Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, Be Our Guest (yes, you usually can find a reservation for this spot the day of your visit!), or Garden Grill (which we love, don’t sleep on this one) are easy to grab reservations even the day of your trip, some others are so popular you’ve got to book the MOMENT your 60-day window opens up at 6AM ET. Even then, lots of guests still have trouble snagging a reservation. But some of our favorite restaurants in Disney World have a reservation secret we’re SHOCKED more people aren’t using!
The majority of Disney World restaurants are owned by Disney, which means most of the time, the only way to book a reservation at these spots is through the My Disney Experience App or on the Disney World website. Once those reservations fill up for the day and time you’re looking for, you’re out of luck.

However, there are many restaurants on Disney World property that are NOT owned by Disney, and while you can still book reservations through Disney, there’s another route you can take, especially if reservations are showing as full via Disney World’s app and/or website.

Many popular, delicious Disney World restaurants are also listed on a website called OpenTable. This is a website that allows guests to book reservations at different fine dining restaurants all over the United States! Restaurants can use this site to help run their reservations smoothly and take some of the stress off themselves.

Yes, this means that reservations for select restaurants in Disney World have both reservations available on the My Disney Experience App/Disney World website AND OpenTable, so if one is filled up, that doesn’t necessarily mean the other is! Some of the restaurants available on OpenTable are:
- Flying Fish
- Summer House on the Lake
- Morimoto Asia
- STK Steakhouse
- Jaleo
- Rosa Mexicano
- Raglan Road
- Wine Bar George
- Many More!

Majority of these restaurants are located at Disney World hotels (or Good Neighbor Hotels), Disney’s BoardWalk, and Disney Springs, rather than inside the theme parks, but these restaurants are often our FAVORITES to stop at in Disney World, so having another way to potentially snag a reservation is a relief.

Now, grabbing a reservation through here isn’t a guaranteed way to grab a last minute reservation, since the reservations available on the Disney World website and OpenTable are both reflecting the genuine availability of the restaurant, but it’s possible one opening up on OpenTable means that the opening will only open on that site and not on Disney’s sites. So it’s always worth checking both, and even if both are booked up, check back on BOTH of them!
