Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is opening soon in Magic Kingdom!

We’ve been watching the construction of the ride for a while now, eagerly awaiting the day that we would get to hop on and check it out for ourselves! Well, thanks to pre-opening previews, that day is FINALLY here. But before we could get on the ride, there were some problems!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently in Cast Member previews, and has been for a few days. In the past couple of days of the ride running, we’ve seen it have some issues.

The ride has already been closed down for technical issues at least once, and today it happened again! We were outside the attraction when we overheard an announcement saying that it was temporarily unavailable.

Shortly after that, people were evacuated from the ride. We could see the process from in front of the big drop — the boats had been stopped and Cast Members came by to remove riders.

Currently, the queue is closed, but Disney expects to have the ride back up later today. We’ll keep a close eye on it and let you know.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a log flume ride that takes you through an original story, set after the events of The Princess and the Frog. You’re helping Tiana plan for a big party, so you go searching for musicians in the bayou!

The ride features several new animatronics of Princess Tiana, Louis, and all their friends. Mama Odie even appears in the ride! Many of your favorite songs from the film are present, as well as a brand-new tune for the finale scene.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens on June 28th, and before it opens to the public, it will have a few rounds of previews for Cast Members, Annual Passholders, and other select groups.

This happens to all rides, especially in the early days. I can tell you from past experience, that Disney is so safety conscience, there is a long list of reasons to close and investigate. Anything out of the ordinary, a sound or smell, a guest misbehaving, etc. Many times guests completely ignored cast instructions on the attraction I worked, and then it had to be stopped for their safety, which required an inspection list be performed before it could be restarted and loaded with new guests, which takes time.
