NEWS: Was Tiana’s Bayou Adventure OPENING DATE Just Announced for Disney World By Accident?

Um, we’re not sure what to think right now.

It feels like FOREVER since Disney first announced that Splash Mountain would be transformed into a Princess and the Frog-themed ride — Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Since that time, we’ve seen concept art, a first look at some of the animatronics, and more. But now Disney has finally dropped the news we’ve all been waiting for, but we think it might have been an accident. 👀

The opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom was revealed early on the morning of May 12th after Disney shared on social media that a big announcement would be coming that evening during the airing of American Idol. But an announcement was posted on the Disney World website sharing the opening date before showtime. According to the post, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will officially open in Disney World (in Magic Kingdom) on June 28th, 2024! 

However, Disney’s post with the opening date was taken down shortly after it was released. So, this makes us wonder if Disney accidentally shared the opening date! If you look at the website now, you’ll see nothing is there.

It is likely that the announcement meant for tonight on American Idol is supposed to be the opening date. However, more details about the ride could also come from this announcement. We also do not know the opening date of the Disneyland version, so perhaps we’ll learn more about that timeline as well.
