So MUCH is happening around Disney World that it’s almost hard to keep up.

We’ve been getting so much news recently about the final part of EPCOT’s multi-year transformation opening soon. We’re still checking out progress on the restaurants coming to Disney’s BoardWalk. We’ve also been obsessively checking the construction over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on the new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas, but now we know what the new building will look like on the inside — and we have booking dates plus an opening timeline!
Here’s a reminder of what the new DVC villas building, aka Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, will look like once it’s complete. As you can see, it’s still got that Polynesian vibe, but with a few modern touches. Island Tower will feature a Manta Ray to symbolize freedom, protection, and grace.

Well, wait until you see the concept art Disney just released for the building’s interior. The lobby will have an art panel in the ceiling inspired by the Polynesian Islands with wildlife native to those places. According to Disney, “each animal holds a strong connection to the islands and symbolizes values important to Polynesians.”

Imagineers worked with dozens of artists from all over the world to create artwork that was unique to the new villas. There will be preserved moss walls, sculptures made from recycled fishing nets, and more all meant to be “inspired by the spirit of conservation and embody the rich cultures of Polynesia.”

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will feature several different room types that will sleep from two to nine guests and will include duo studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and new two-bedroom penthouse villas. Many of the rooms will also have great views.
Perhaps the biggest news, though, is that these rooms will be open as of December 2024, and you’ll be able to book them soon:
- June 4th: DVC members can make reservations by contacting Member Services at (800) 800-9800. DVC members will be able to make points-based reservations later.
- June 5th: Annual Passholders can make reservations by contacting (407) 934-7639.
- June 6th: The general public can make reservations online or by contacting (407) 934-7639.
So mark those dates if you’re looking to stay at Disney World’s newest property.
