Disney’s BoardWalk underwent a lot of changes in the past year.
The area has been under construction for a while but we’re excited to see the end result! At the end of 2022 Carousel Coffee opened, and now we’re one step closer to another dining location.
The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is a beautiful bakery filled with tasty pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, and more. The interior is even more beautiful than the food they serve! There are currently two locations in Indiana and each is decorated with flowers, chandeliers, and flourishes that make you feel as if you’ve stepped right into a fairy tale. It’s no wonder they’re opening a new location in Disney World!
Last summer the BoardWalk was announced as the home for the new restaurant. Construction began in December of 2022, and the bakery is set to open some time this year. Last we saw the old ESPN Club had been gutted, making way for a more delicate and pastel façade fitting the dainty café.
We have some new updates! More of the upper structure has been removed, leaving just a skeleton for them to build the exterior upon.
The construction crew was hard at work, using lifts and cranes to retheme the building. Other areas have had their façades removed to make space for siding to fit the Cake Bake Shop’s aesthetic.
