Can you believe everything that’s changing right now in Disney World? We’ve got Tron Lightcycle Run updates, the train is back up and running in Magic Kingdom, and there’s a NEW coffee shop at Disney’s BoardWalk!
Carousel Coffee JUST opened this week, and we already have more news for you in Disney’s BoardWalk area! We’re starting to see some big construction happening over at the soon-to-be Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, opening next year!
While we don’t have an opening date yet, we do know that this shop is set to open sometime in 2023.
Today we saw what looks like demolition happening at the old ESPN Club.
You can still see some of the old ESPN Club shape to it, but based on the concept art Disney shared last month, this will be given a glam makeover!
Once this location opens, you’ll be able to enjoy sweet treats as well as a savory menu — and they’ll serve afternoon tea! We’re excited to see how this whimsical place turns out.

This Cake Shop is a terrible idea. Who is going to buy a $20 piece of cake. They are very expensive and frankly I just couldn’t see my husband in there sipping tea or champagne. I don’t think this is a good fit for the Boardwalk and will be a hard pass for us.
It would be nice to have a place that has an afternoon Tea since the afternoon Tea has not returned to the Grand Floridian.
