If you go to Disneyland expecting every ride to be open throughout every single trip, you may be met with some disappointment.
Rides can close at Disneyland unexpectedly (due to technical issues or other problems), but they can also close sometimes due to scheduled refurbishments. Now, one popular ride has been added to the refurbishment calendar and YOU need to be prepared.
According to the Disneyland website, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be CLOSING for refurbishment starting April 3rd. It begins to appear on the refurbishment calendar on that date. For now, the refurbishment calendar only goes through April 7th, and the ride continues to be listed as closed for refurbishment through that time.
Similarly, if you check the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad site, it shows “no times available” starting April 3rd. Again that calendar only goes through April 7th for now and the ride continues to show no hours through that time.
As of this moment, we don’t have a reopening date, but we’ll be on the lookout for any changes.
