So we might tell you to avoid summers in Disney World if you don’t like heat and humidity. But there are all kinds of NEW things coming this summer to the parks that we might instead tell you to stock up on sunscreen, cooling towels, and water bottles and make that trip.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening in Magic Kingdom this summer and a new Encanto singalong is coming to EPCOT for a limited time. Well, there’s something else to look forward to in Disney World this summer, too: a returning meet and greet.
As you may know, this year celebrates the 30th anniversary of Disney’s animated The Lion King. Well, where better to celebrate than at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? In honor of this big anniversary, Disney is bringing back a popular meet and greet that we haven’t seen in a LONG time: Timon and Rafiki.
Timon and Rafiki will once more be greeting guests at Rafiki’s Planet Watch — you can find times in the My Disney Experience app. While you’re there, you can also learn to draw characters from The Lion King at the Animation Experience.
For those who collect popcorn buckets, the Pumbaa Popcorn Bucket will also be making a comeback to celebrate all things Lion King. Hakuna Matata!
