Where are my fellow picky eaters?! I know I’m not alone!
Yes, it’s true. I consider myself the pickiest eater on the AllEars team. I’m not a fan of seafood, I just started enjoying sauces besides ketchup five years ago, and chicken tenders and fries are a go-to for me (in the theme parks and in real life). So if you are a picky eater like me, keep reading to see some of my favorite meals in Disney World because you just might like them too!
Quick Service
I am a snacker at heart so it was hard to pick just a few quick-service meals/snacks. But I’ve narrowed it down to these five!
Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich
Starting in the OG Disney World park, we’re headed to Sleepy Hollow in Magic Kingdom for the Sweet & Spicy Chicken Waffle. I usually order it without the broccoli slaw on top — it’s not my favorite but it does add a nice contrast to the waffle and the chicken! Despite being picky, spicy food is my kryptonite.
At $11.59, it comes with a side of house-made chips and is usually my go-to lunch in the park. It’s also sharable so if you want to try it as a snack, go ahead and cut that in half. But me? I’m not sharing.
Cheeseburger Pods
If you love the taste of a McDonald’s burger, may I introduce the Cheeseburger Pods from Satu’li Canteen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom?
These babies are bao buns stuffed with ground beef, ketchup, mustard, pickle, and cheddar cheese and served with vegetable slaw and vegetable chips for $13.29. The first time I tried these, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed them — mostly because I’m not fond of mustard or pickles. You really can’t pick out those flavors when they are combined with the other ingredients in the bun. It really does taste like a burger from McDonald’s!
Pro tip: Not that hungry? You can get one Cheeseburger Pod by ordering off the kids’ menu here (and it’s under $9!).
Breakfast Ronto Wrap
Scooting over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I almost always make time to grab the Ronto Morning Wrap from Ronto Roasters. At home, a go-to breakfast is a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich, and that’s basically what this is — just Star Wars-ified. (I know that’s not a word, but I’m making it a thing now!).
Anyways, this $12.79 item is made with eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheddar, and peppercorn sauce on pita bread. I find the regular Ronto Wrap to be too much, especially with the roasted pork AND grilled pork sausage, but the breakfast version is where it’s at. The peppercorn sauce might bother some picky eaters, but you can easily order this without it.
Totchos
Shocker! I’m back with another breakfast item (the best meal of the day IMO). This time it’s the Breakfast Bowl at Woody’s Lunch Box which includes Potato Barrels, also known as tater tots, brisket country gravy, scrambled eggs, and green onions for $8.79.
Again, the regular version of Totchos has too much going on for my taste buds, but I adore the breakfast! Not only is it fairly inexpensive, but it’s super filling and doesn’t have any wild flavors. The one thing that may bother other picky eaters is all of the textures with the tots, gravy, and eggs, so keep that in mind!
Backlot Express
Many people skip over Backlot Express because it can be seen as “boring” and I get it! However, it is a really solid option for picky eaters because it serves pretty standard theme park fare.
Are these the best chicken tenders you will ever have? No. But I find myself coming here when I want a safe option because I know exactly what I’m going to get.
Table Service Restaurants
‘Ohana…well, sort of
I grew up going to ‘Ohana as a kid…but as an adult, I can’t justify paying the price when I don’t eat a few of the items included in it. Luckily, Tambu Lounge serves up all of the best things from ‘Ohana!
You can grab items like the iconic noodles, the hot wings, and the pot stickers for an a la carte price. This is also a great hack if you can’t score one of those hard-to-get ‘Ohana reservations!
50s Prime Time
50s Prime Time is another one of those comfort spots as a picky eater. I bet you can’t guess what my go-to meal is by now…
If you said Aunt Liz’s Golden Fried Chicken, you’d be correct! This $26 meal comes with a load of some of the best fried chicken in Disney World (they put the Backlot Express chicken tenders to shame) and mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables on the side.
The menu is full of pretty safe options so this is great for groups of choosy eaters.
Boma
Boma is another fan-favorite restaurant I grew up going to and it’s still one of my must-dos every trip to Disney World! The restaurant offers a breakfast and dinner buffet with African-inspired options as well as some American cuisine.
I HIGHLY recommend taking kids who are picky here just because they can try new things. You know you’re safe with the kids’ part of the buffet that has mac and cheese and chicken tenders, but there are so many unique things they can try to get out of their comfort zone. The best part is you can just grab a little bit of everything and go back for the things you like most. You might surprise yourself — I know I did!
Spice Road Table
And last but not least is Spice Road Table in EPCOT! This one was probably the biggest surprise to me on this list, but I had to include it because it has become one of my favorites. If you only order one thing, make it these Hummus Fries ($10). I’m just drooling thinking about them!
This is also where I tried fried cauliflower for the first time and y’all, it was GOOD. The name Pomegranate-Chili Crispy Cauliflower may scare you away, but if you like a little spice, don’t let it!
There you have it! I hope this helps my fellow picky eaters out there who also love Disney World. Give these options a try on your next trip and let me know what you think!

I love the combination bowls at Satu’li Canteen, being able to choose the meat, base and sauce makes me happy
Also you can’t go wrong with Backlot Express 😊
Heh. Those cheeseburger pods wouldn’t work for me, I hate pickles with such a white hot passion that if something is 0.001% pickle I will taste nothing but pickle!
Definitely dinner at Boma. Boma provides a virtually risk-free opportunity to try new things. If a particular food does not workout, Just get a new plate and try something else1
