If you’re planning a visit to Disney World and want to spend some extra time in the parks with FEWER crowds, we’ve got an update you need to know about.
Extra Magic Hours have gone away, but 2 replacement offerings — Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours — are in their place now. Typically, Extended Evening Hours have been available at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, though on more rare occasions, Hollywood Studios has made the list too. And soon fans of all things Hollywood Studios will be able to enjoy the perk there again!
On the Extended Evening Hours website, Disney has noted that the special hotel perk will be available at Hollywood Studios on select nights this fall. Specifically, it’ll be offered there on September 30th, October 5th, October 11th, October 19th, and October 25th, 2023.
This is a pretty big update as the perk is not usually offered at that park (it’s typically only been available there during especially busy seasons like holidays and Spring Break).
For those unfamiliar with it, Extended Evening Hours is a perk exclusively for guests staying at Deluxe Disney World Hotels, Deluxe Villas, and other select hotels. It gives qualifying guests the chance to stay in select parks LATER in the day than the “traditional” guests. But it’s only available on select nights at certain parks.
Note that only select rides remain open during Extended Evening Hours. At Hollywood Studios, that does include some bigger attractions like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania!, and the Tower of Terror.
Noticeably missing from that list is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, so that is important to keep in mind.
Again, this perk is only for those staying at certain hotels. You can see the full list of qualifying spots below.
If you’ll be staying at a qualifying hotel and plan to visit during those dates on which Extended Evening Hours will be available at Hollywood Studios, it’s a perk you might not want to miss out on. Because it’s limited to certain guests, it can provide you with the opportunity to get on some rides with shorter waits and enjoy an emptier park.
Just note that you will need valid park admission and a valid park pass. If you have a ticket with the ability to hop, you can have a Park Pass for a different park (but you must have entered your first park of the day before hopping to Disney’s Hollywood Studios later for Extended Evening Hours).
We’ll keep an eye out for more updates that could change your trip plans, so stay tuned for that.
