This Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Offering Is Returning After 4 Years!

Is it too early to be thinking about the holidays at Disney World? Because we already are.

Recently, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party dates and prices were announced for 2023. While tickets aren’t on sale just yet, we do know some new information about how this year’s party will be different. We know there is a brand new castle stage show coming, and that TRON Lightcycle/Run will utilize a Virtual Queue during the party. Now, we just got a BIG hint that something might FINALLY be returning to the party.

No, unfortunately, it is not the Castle Dream Lights that we all are hoping for (yet). It does have to do with the parade. We already knew that Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will be returning with all your favorite Disney pals in festive decor!

Of course, the iconic Toy Soldiers have been a staple in the Christmas parade but they actually might be changing this year.

Disney posted a job description for “Student Musicians“. The audition is only for performers participating in the Disney College Program who are currently on a program, extending to or arriving on the program no later than August 25th.

It continues to read, “Disney Parks Live Entertainment is seeking marching Trumpet and Percussion players for the traditional Toy Soldier for Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas Parade…”. Student musicians should be 5’8″-6″, proficient in trumpet or percussion with previous marching experience.

Since the parks closed in 2020, the Toy Soldiers unit was only a marching unit and not a band as it was in previous years. It looks like this could be changing for this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and we’re pretty darn excited about that!
