Planning a holiday trip to Disney World in 2023? Well, there’s going to be a LOT to do!

Tower of Terror during the holidays

You can scope out the decorations around the parks and resorts, visit the Merry Menagerie at Animal Kingdom, explore the Festival of the Holidays at EPCOT, or check out a brand new nighttime event at Disney’s Hollywood StudiosJollywood Nights! But if you want to do things the classic holiday way, then you HAVE to make a trip to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) at Magic Kingdom.

The popular holiday party returns in 2023 and will take place on 25 different nights from November 9th-December 22nd. To visit, you’ll have to purchase a ticket, and it’ll cost between $159-$199 per adult ticket, depending on the date that you visit.

So if you’re willing to pay the cost, what can you expect at MVMCP? Well, Disney announced that quite a few offerings are returning this year, and we’re sharing the entire list with you!

This way to holiday cheer!

First of all, you can expect some popular entertainment. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration will take place on the stage in front of Cinderella Castle multiple times each night, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will light up the sky during each party. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade will also be returning with all your favorite Disney pals in festive decor! (Keep in mind that these entertainment offerings will show only if weather permits.)

For 2023, Disney is introducing a NEW show called Frozen Holiday Surprise. It will feature Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff in front of Cinderella Castle as the castle is illuminated in a “whole new way.” There will be performances of this show both during the daytime and during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. There was a similar show that was offered back before the pandemic when Cinderella Castle had the Dream Lights, so we’re interested to see how this one is different.

Another highlight of Disney’s holiday parties is the character meet and greets. Disney has confirmed that characters will be at the party for photo ops, dressed in their “Christmas best” but we don’t know for sure yet which characters will be available. In the past, we’ve met characters like Mickey, Minnie, Jack Skellington, Sally, Santa Goofy, Donald, Moana, and more.

And speaking of photo ops, there will be plenty of opportunities to snap pictures with the stunning holiday decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. Disney also shared that there will be “snowfall” again this year — the substance that we lovingly call “snoap.” On top of that, there will be multiple PhotoPass photographers around the party to capture your memories and they’ll have special holiday Magic Shots for you to try out!

During the party, you’ll be able to check out a number of Magic Kingdom attractions that will stay open late. Space Mountain will be getting a holiday overlay exclusive to the party, and Jungle Cruise will be operating as “Jingle Cruise” throughout the holiday season — both during the day and during MVMCP. TRON Lightcycle / Run will also be open, and will be operating with a virtual queue.

If you’re in the mood to boogie, you’ll want to stop by one of the two dance parties available. Club Tinsel is typically located inside Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and features a variety of holiday characters like reindeer and a polar bear. For the little ones, the Disney Junior Jingle Jam can usually be found in Storybook Circus and features characters like Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, and characters from The Lion Guard.

Wondering about the food options? Well, the complimentary cookies and cocoa are returning this year! At various stops around the park, you’ll be able to pick up some sweet treats included in the cost of your party ticket.

The Disney World website also mentions that special holiday merchandise and seasonal snacks will be available for purchase during the party, but doesn’t give details about what those specific offerings will be. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see!
