Disneyland has been going through quite a transformation.

ToonTown recently got a makeover and the addition of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Tarzan’s Treehouse is being renovated to become the Adventureland Treehouse. New restaurants are coming to Downtown Disney. PLUS Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel is being reimagined into the Pixar Place Hotel — and now we’ve got ANOTHER look at what that hotel will look like.
Disney has released some new concept artwork showcasing the Pixar Place Hotel. The hotel transformation is expected to be completed by this winter (as we previously shared), and once it’s done, Pixar Place Hotel will be the ONLY fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States — WOW!

The lobby will feature images from Pixar movies at the front desk, as well as larger-than-life artwork of Pixar characters. All of that will be mixed in with the hotel’s contemporary vibe. These changes will take place in the lobby over the next few months.

By winter 2023, guests will also see the Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball with a character-inspired mobile hanging above it in the lobby atrium. (The concept art below is one we had previously shared.)

The hotel will also get an all-new water play area inspired by Finding Nemo that will feature Crush on top of a 186-foot-long waterslide. As Crush would say, “Righteous!” This is expected to become available for hotel guests “later this summer.” (The concept art below is one we had previously shared, but now you know to look forward to this in the summer!)

Disney has also revealed that there will also be a family play court on the deck full of activities inspired by Pixar’s short films, including La Luna, Bao, Burrow, and more. This is expected to become available “later this year.”
Hotel guests will also be able to enjoy food and drinks outside underneath some of the “love-struck umbrellas from The Blue Umbrella.” Guests will also get to take in the Disneyland fireworks on the pool deck. You can catch those while cozying up by the character-inspired firepits.

The hotel will be getting a new restaurant — Great Maple — which we’ve talked about before. Great Maple is a “Southern California-based modern American eatery [that] specializes in playful takes on upscale comfort food.” It’ll be opening a flagship restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day.
Previously, there had been indications that the restaurant would open in the summer, but Disney’s latest information indicates that it’ll open “this fall.”

Disney has shared that some of the “signature dishes” that should be available at this restaurant will include Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and the Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs. There will also be a full bar at Great Maple.
Plus Disney notes that “Great Maple’s culinary creativity will abound throughout the hotel, offering food and beverage service at the pool, as well as a new grab ‘n’ go coffee shop and café near the lobby, and eventually at the hotel’s new concierge lounge.”

We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more progress on the Pixar Place Hotel, so be sure to check back again with AllEars soon!
