Well, the end of Disney World’s huge 50th anniversary celebration is here.
We’re going to miss the 50th decorations, the 50th cavalcade, and a LOT of the 50th food. But another 50th thing will soon be going away, too.
If you’ve seen the Cinderella Castle show, Mickey’s Magical Friendship Fare, you might have noticed that Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy are sporting their finest 50th anniversary EARidescent outfits.
Well, as of tomorrow, those outfits will be gone FOREVER. A Cast Member confirmed that these costumes will be gone as of tomorrow, April 1st. The characters will likely go back to wearing what they wore before the 50th celebrations began. However, we were told the dancers will still have something similar to their 50th anniversary outfits.
That’s just another thing we’ll be missing when the 50th officially ends today. Other things that will change include the snacks (many have already left Disney World menus), the 50th decor (we expect the banners throughout the resort to be gone tomorrow, as well as the big 50 medallion on Cinderella Castle), Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade, and more.
However, a NEW anniversary will be coming to Disney World soon. Although The Walt Disney Company kicked off its 100th anniversary celebration in Disneyland, we expect to see more of that celebration making its way to the East Coast. In the meantime, you can find tons of 100th anniversary merchandise in Disney World shops.
Disney World will be celebrating the 100th anniversary with themed months. We’ll be kicking that off in April with the 25th anniversary of Animal Kingdom and focusing on Disney’s conservation efforts. After that, we’ll have a Star Wars month, a Pixar month, Mickey and friends month, Disney princesses month, and a Disney superheroes month.
We’ll be covering all the 100th anniversary fun in Disney World, so check back with AllEars often!
