Pedro Pascal has become a HUGE star over the past few years.

Pascal is currently the star of TWO big shows (The Last of Us on HBO Max and The Mandalorian on Disney+). And while that might keep him VERY busy, he still manages to take time out of his busy schedule to do some special things.
According to Today, Pascal had previously been announced as a presenter for the 2023 Academy Awards. But he didn’t just attend the event as a presenter.
Pascal’s sister, Javiera Balmaceda, worked on the film Argentina, 1985, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film (representing Argentina). So Pascal attended the event for more than his presenting duties. It seems supportive brother duties were also on the agenda. As InStyle points out since Balmaceda was the one nominated that technically makes Pedro his sister’s date (not the other way around).

Pascal posted photos of him supporting his sister with the caption “Big Sis Energy” on Instagram. (And people all over the world suddenly loved Pascal even more.)
Ultimately, Argentina, 1985 didn’t win Best International Film. That award went to All Quiet on the Western Front, but we have a feeling it was still a special night for this sibling duo between presenter duties and an Oscar nomination.

In case you wanted a more full look at Pascal’s suit and Balmaceda’s outfit, here ya go. You’re WELCOME.

And if you’re wondering what award Pascal presented, he presented the awards for Best Documentary Short Subject and Best Animated Short Film with Elizabeth Olsen — the duo we never knew we needed. (Buzzfeed)

Pascal can currently be seen in season 3 of The Mandalorian, which premiered on Disney+ on March 1st. This season of the series has Din Djarin (Pascal) seeking to redeem himself after taking his helmet off in Season 2 (a BIG no-no for his particular group of Mandalorians), while also looking after Grogu (who rejoined Din in The Book of Boba Fett). As they say on the show, this is the way.

New episodes of The Mandalorian drop on Disney+ every Wednesday, so don’t miss them! Meanwhile, you can now meet Din AND Grogu at Disneyland AND Disney World.

Meanwhile, The Last of Us, a video game adaptation on HBO Max starring Pascal, just wrapped up its first season. The series has been picked up for a second season, and we have a feeling Pascal is going to be staying busy for a long, long time. Stay tuned for more Disney and entertainment news!
