Disney World rides can close unexpectedly, but at other times their closure is scheduled (typically for regular maintenance).
For example, right now Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has closed for a lengthy refurbishment in Hollywood Studios. But over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, one popular ride has reopened after a refurbishment of its own!
Back in early January of 2023, Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom’s big water ride) closed for refurbishment.
Most recently, we saw wait times popping up for the ride on March 17th, so we were anticipating that the ride could reopen at that time. But guests at Animal Kingdom were met with a SURPRISE this morning. On February 27th, Kali River Rapids reopened — earlier than expected!
You can see that the attraction lists hours for the day online now.
And when we stopped by in person, it was open and ready for guests to enjoy.
Just be warned, you could get SOAKED!
If you’re looking for a way to cool down in the Florida heat, know that Kali River Rapids has reopened and is ready for you to check out! When we looked at the wait times around 12:23PM, it only had a 5-minute wait, though (of course) that could change.
