Disney World’s Kona Cafe Got a Makeover — See What It Looks Like Now

We can actually SEE Kona Cafe again!

Kona Cafe

Kona Cafe is located inside Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and has been closed for refurbishment since August. But now the walls are down, and we’re getting our first look at what the restaurant looks like now!

Earlier this month, reservations reopened for the restaurant beginning on November 1st, which is the official reopening date of this popular spot. Now that the walls have come down, we got our first look at the refurbishment.

There it is!

We saw lots of Cast Members inside working on getting the restaurant ready, which still looks as beautiful as ever.

A closer look

We did see some people sitting at a few of the tables for a private event, but reservations for guests are not available for any guests until November 1st.

Closed Walkway sign

The walkway is also still closed, so you can’t walk in front of the restaurant just yet. But in just a few days, these will come down too, and you’ll be able to walk by as much as you’d like.

Debating if you want to stay at this resort on your next trip? We’ve made a whole video on why the Polynesian is both the best AND worst hotel in Disney World and what you should eat while you’re there. Also be aware that while this construction is coming to a close, the resort is still working on building their new DVC Villas, and you can see that construction from the Monorail.
