UPDATE on Marvel's 'Captain America 4' Movie

Marvel Studios has been giving us nonstop superhero hits!

From their latest blockbuster movies like Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to shows like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and the upcoming She-Hulk series, there’s a lot for Marvel fans to be excited about. A fourth Captain America movie was announced after the finale of 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series, and now, the film has a director!

Julius Onah, a Nigerian-American filmmaker best known for 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox, will be directing the fourth Captain America movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, who accepted the title of Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Marcus Spellman, the creator and head writer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be penning the script alongside Dalan Musson, a staff writer for the series.

We don’t know too much about the movie, but it will likely take place after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Sam Wilson step into the role of Captain America, a character with a complex political and historical connotation. We also hope to see the return of Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, who spent the series making amends for his actions as the Winter Soldier.
