Many things at Disney World, including restaurants, did not reopen with Disney World in 2020 after the resort’s historic closure.
And even now, in 2022, many things remain closed, although we’re gradually seeing the return of some entertainment, hotels, and restaurants. We recently got word that Jiko — The Cooking Place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge would reopen soon and now you can secure your dining reservations!
Jiko is set to reopen on February 17th, and as of today, reservations are now open! So if you want to dine there during your next Disney World trip, be sure to head over to Disney World’s website or the My Disney Experience app to make those advance dining reservations ASAP because they’re already starting to go fast!
If you’re not familiar with Jiko, this underrated restaurant offers up unique African-inspired fare in a beautiful setting. And, not only does it have a great menu (including Seafood Tagine, “filled with prawns, scallops, squid, and Littleneck clams”), but it also has an excellent South African wine list.

Keep in mind that dining reservations can be made 60 days in advance of your trip, so be sure to mark your calendars to secure your spot at Jiko! And we’ll let you know about other reopenings at Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
