Today’s the day! One of our favorite moderate resorts, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, has reopened!
Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter will be reopening on October 28th, but today we got to explore Riverside for its first official day back.
Located on the Sassagoula River, Port Orleans Riverside is themed to the Mississippi Bayou.
As a Disney Springs resort, you can catch a Sassagoula Boat that takes guests from the Port Orleans Resorts to Disney Springs (and vice versa!).
Riverside looks beautiful as ever with so much greenery and sweeping trees.
The lobby is bright and airy with touches of early 19th century design.
You’ll find references to Mississippi steamboats throughout the lobby, like this one here…
…and here too!
And you can once again shop at Fulton’s General Store.
Outside you can find more gorgeous details and landscaping.
There are also directions to different resort areas, including Alligator Bayou and the Fishing Hole Playground…
…and also to the Magnolia Terrace!
And don’t forget the River Roost Lounge, where you’ll find the return of Yehaa Bob Jackson tonight! This lounge will be open from 5PM to 12AM today.
Most dining has returned to Riverside, including the Riverside Mill Food Court and Muddy Rivers Bar, but the Southern-style table service restaurant Boatwright’s Dining Hall will not reopen until sometime in December, according to a Cast Member we asked. We’ll be looking out for an official reopening date.

Can’t wait for our anniversary trip in July/August to stay here once again !!! Love love the resort, from the peaceful walks to the food court from the oversized comfortable rooms to the cool dip in the pools. I love it all . Way too many days to wait.
I love this place!!!!!
I love this resort. I’d stay there even if I wasn’t going into any of the parks. The food court is great and the swimming pools are, too. It has a game room for the kids which my grandson loves. I also enjoy the boat ride to Disney Springs. The price for the amenities is, I think, pretty reasonable for a Disney Hotel. It’s also pet friendly which is a plus for me. I’m thrilled that it reopened as I have already made reservations for October 17th.
