Since reopening in the spring, many fan-favorite rides, restaurants, and entertainment options have returned to Disneyland Resort.

2021 marked the return of the Disneyland Band, Disney Junior Dance Party!, fireworks, and even select parades. And, while many other things have yet to return, Disney has announced that SIX popular entertainment offerings will be returning to the parks next year (including some with changes!).
According to Disney, Celebrate Gospel!, Tale of the Lion King, the Main Street Electrical Parade, Fantasmic!, World of Color, and Disneyland Forever Fireworks Spectacular will be BACK in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure in 2022!

Celebrate Gospel! is set to return in February with a few changes. The live choir will be expanded, sharing more performances with “distinctive style and inspiration.” Plus, it will move from its former location at the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure to the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland Park.

The Tale of the Lion King will then return later in the spring* at the Fantasyland Theater in Disneyland Park (which is a NEW location for the show). So, guests will once again be able to watch the story from The Lion King brought to life by live performers.
*UPDATE: Tale of the Lion King is now scheduled to return in the summer, with rehearsals beginning in April!

And, back in October, Disney Parks shared a video teasing the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland and the rumors are true! Disney has confirmed that the parade will be back in Disneyland Park just in time to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

Plus, Fantasmic! will return to Disneyland Park along with World of Color at Disney California Adventure! So, you’ll be able to catch a nighttime show no matter which park you’re visiting.

Lastly, Disney has confirmed that Disneyland Forever will be back to light up the sky with fireworks, Main Street U.S.A. and Castle projections, and more!

Disney has not yet shared an official date for when each of these entertainment offerings will return, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated when more is announced. And, in the meantime, stay tuned to AllEars for more of the latest Disney news!
