Disney World’s Story Book Character Dining Will Reopen With an UPDATED Menu!

After over 18 months, another character dining experience is finally coming back to Disney World next month!

Story Book Dining at Artist Point

Earlier today, Disney announced that Story Book Dining at Artist Point in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will reopen on December 16th, 2021 with its signature characters and a prix fixe menu! And, now we’ve got a first look at what menu changes will be coming to the restaurant when it welcomes guests back!

For one fixed cost per person (which Disney has yet to announce), guests will be able to enjoy shared appetizers, a choice of plated entrees, and shared desserts. And, if you were a big fan of this restaurant before then you’re in luck because not much has changed on the menu!

Appetizers at Story Book Dining

For appetizers, guests will receive three dishes to share including the returning Wicked Shrimp Cocktail. Disney did update the name of the Mushroom Bisque to “Wild Mushroom Bisque” but from what the menu says, the ingredients remain the same.

And, the biggest change is that the Hunter’s Terrine (which featured chicken, black truffle, stone fruit preserve, house-made pickles) has been renamed to the Hunter’s Pie and now includes turkey and chicken, black truffle, cranberry preserve, and crispy sauerkraut.

On the entree menu, guests can expect to find returning favorites like the Royal Prime Rib Roast and A Stroll Through Nature plus a few changes to dishes that were previously on the menu.

For example, the “Cottage” Beef Stew has been renamed to the “Cottage” Beef Stroganoff (though seemingly nothing has changed about the dish) and the Brother’s Grimm Roasted Chicken is now the Brother’s Grimm Herb Chicken and features cauliflower purée, roasted vegetables, and chicken jus.

Additionally, the Magic Mirror Slow-braised Pork Shank will now come with Horseradish-Mashed Potato instead of the Celery Root Mashed potato along with wilted greens, and jus). And, the newest plant-based menu item is the Sorceress Spell of “Tricken” Chicken which includes herb-crushed potatoes, snap peas and vegetable jus.

And, you’ll want to be sure to save room for dessert because there will be FOUR shareable treats including the returning “Poison” Apple, Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart, and The Hunter’s Gift to the Queen.

The only change here is that the Miner’s Treasures dessert is now described as being made with cookies ‘n cream panna cotta and chocolate gems rather than the former sponge cake, chocolate gems, and berry panna cotta.

The drink menu has also remained mostly the same with the only slight updates coming to a few items.

The Wishing Apple Punch was previously priced at $7 and automatically included a Souvenir Glow Cube. However, now the non-alcohol drink will cost $5 and guests can add the glow cube to the drink at an additional cost of $3.79. And, the alcoholic drink, A Brew of Peaches, will now be made with Jim Beam Black Extra-aged Bourbon rather than Buffalo Trace bourbon.
